For under $750, this system hauls. Extremely loud, super clear tones and has far exceeded my expectations. It's been a few weeks since installing on my 2002 Elecrta Glide and I would not change a thing. The Crutchfield staff were super helpful in piecing this together, quickly answering many technical & component related questions. Here are the details of what went into it and take a few extra minutes to "shop smart".

I am just finishing up my system. Sounds great!. I went with 6 6.5 inch Fosgates in the fairing, added them to the pods and the rear. I ran them all thru the amp (600 Kenwood kac-314) and it cranks! For some reason it cuts out when it gets up to 29 out of 35 on volume. I have been working on it for a week or so (health issues). I am going to ride soon (until they amputate my leg anyway). FYI, you didn't need to keep the stock speaker rings in the fairing with the adapters, just put your screen on the front of the adapter and screw it on, it will hold the screen Gotta have tunes...

wire 3 speakers in a pair in series, then each pair of 3 parallel out at 2.6 ohm, so series/parallel,, itll help with longevity of the speakers and it will make the cutting out go away, if you need a picture let me know

Nice job! this is why I prefer a a road king (no factory fairing) its a pain in the ass to up grade the factory stereo system in a Harley-Davidson fairing. For some odd reason HD runs ever thing through the radio. After market fairing is a clean slate and just build from there

Wow that's the same exact JVC head unit I have in my bike now but I'm getting ready to get rid of it because it started malfunctioning as I was riding it would change modes it would go from Bluetooth to a.m. to FM to auxiliary back to Bluetooth and the volume would go all the way up and I couldn't get it to turn down or shut off so I just pulled the fuse on it so I'm getting ready to get rid of it. Don't know how old it is but it's got to go.

as of now I have installed the same amp and same polk fairing speakers, stock radio. its great. cant decide on whether to keep the stock radio or upgrade. next step is going to be the hog tunes Bluetooth transmitter and probably dual 6x9 lids

That amp is really only big enough for 2 of those 6x9’s. It’s only about 300 watts rms. It’ll sound okay but you’re not using those speakers to anywhere near their full capabilities.

Great vid. I was contemplating purchasing the Rockford Fosgate $1960 system for my 2006 Ultra Classic. Sounds like you have a great alternative. I don't need 6 speakers, though. Would the items on this list do me well?

I made an alum plate that bolted to the batwing inner stereo deck plastic surround and bolted amp to that, But alot of people double sticky velcro amp on top of deck

How did you hook up 4channel amp to speakers? Did you hook up both front and back inputs from radio to amp ?

The deck (just) rear output (R and L) I plugged splitters into each one basically doubling the deck;s rear out puts. These then (2 left and 2 right deck outputs )now plug into the 4 channel amp. I then made sure the 2 right deck inputs that feed the amp make the amps power go to the both right bags 6x9's and same for the left side. I hope that's what you where asking. So now I can fade from the deck front to rear and side to side. I mounted the Kenwood amp in my right saddle bag. And mounted the Dual amp right on top of headunit that powers the 2 batwing speakers.

was the original amp under the tour pack? Did you just remove that harness?

cuevas72 No, did not remove any harnesses, simply. Unplugged the original head unit from the factory harness and plugged the new one in. Very simple. No amp on the factory stereo, it was all one self contained unit. .

that amp is not a 600 watt amp. its a 300 watt amp (when ran at 2 ohms). the max power sticker on the front is false advertisement. here's the manufacturer website link showing its true power www.kenwood.com/usa/car/marine/kac-m3004/ pick up a soundz 100.4 amp or a rockford fosgate tm400x4ad ( i recomend the soundz amp), both are designed marine grade and both come in kits for harleys. pricey but double the power and smaller than this kenwood. if you changed that into this system it will scream twice as loud. those db's can handle the extra power.

it's really clear, just not loud enough for me and feel no bass response at all. Total waste of money. Only difference is I got the Aquatic AV stereo

Yeah I think its definitely the amp choice! You definitely to to add a amp, & go with something different than the kenwood. I'm bout to add my audio, I went with the pole mm series 6.5 & 6x9's. I have the Rockford lid kit. Rockford pbr400x4d amp, & diamond micro4v2. I couldn't see paying for the Aquatic radio, j just went with jvc.

I dont know how you feel bout your bag space, but it's a guy on called (money cars stereos) he use a lot of pioneer & put together some killer system check him out
