You seem more excited about your Squier in this comparison video, Rich 😉 I think the pickups in Harley Benton sounds better with high gain because it's brighter. And the pickups in the Squier sounds better on the clean channel.

Ah ok that’s different view point on it 👍🏻 . I really like this Squier. I had a fender lone star strat, an HH strat and standard fender too. I’ve also had lots of Squier standards, affinities and bullets and this one is in my top 3 for sure!

I have the impression that there is a hype at the moment in the case of Harley Benton guitars. Especially guys from the UK buy Harley Bentons. :-) I have one, the HB 35 semi acoustic. The negative thing was the high action of the strings. Is this the right English expression? The positive thing is that this guitar has teached me to make some adjustments on my guitar.
@thenovicenoisemaker3 жыл бұрын
@@horststraske7822 the last couple of years the UK has gone nuts for HBs! I wonder don’t will calm down that Brexit has put the cost up 25%.... Rich love the video, found via your ebay ad for the L-500 (SC 550) Vintage Series Les Paul. Love the buying a guitar when things are bad idea, a man after my own heart. I've bought five since September (which only brings my total to seven to be fair) but my kids think I'm mad, I'll show them this and tell them I'll go for the 71 unless they leave me alone! My first Harley Benton is currently on its way from Germany, a black RB-600BK Classic Series which I love the look of. Question is now do I bid on your Les Paul? I have a Cherry Sunburst Epiphone LP but a white one would look good in the collection. I'll have a think.

This made me laugh 😆. I say go for it on the 71 guitars! 5 since September is good, think I’ve only had 4 since then. I’m going to do a whistle stop video about them all soon. I really white guitars and especially with gold hardware. I’ve just bought a CV tele in vintage blonde which will get gold hardware at some point. The RB is a nice looking guitar, you’ll have to let me know what you think once you’ve got it. If you decide to bid on my HB, good luck

You should have changed the title for "How To Relic Guitars the Rich Way" ahaha ! Definitely prefered the Bullet in this one (you shouldn't have sold this one aha !!), and not only because that creamy colour is just so beautiful aha ! But as you said at the end, guess you can't go wrong with either of these anyway. What I think I can hear from this vid is that the HB sounds a bit more modern actually ? Such a lovely vid again, plus the Mayer part was beautiful !

The colour on the Squier is killer! I like the Hb headstock but at least the Squier doesn't have the heavier 70's headstock. Both have better models for a bit more coin. Bullit is the better deal, the Hb painted/mat finish is cheap looking and is Cheap quality. Just catching up on your vids Rich, recently sub'd to your channel. Cheers mate!

@thenovicenoisemaker3 жыл бұрын
@@ZAKatack96 I haven't kept it long enough to say although I had a Fender Strat in matte black and after a fair of playing the matte becomes 'shiny' in areas wear you lean your arm. It also shows up finger marks but wipes clean. I had this same finger board on another HB and it gets dirty and started to go off colour but was fine after I cleaned it and lemon oil applied. Overall for the money its a good guitar. I have had 15 Harley Benton's and a lot of entry level Squier so have a good idea about budget guitars. A second hand Squier Affinity would be better for comparable money. My particular Bullet is very good (a 2011 model) but the current Bullets aren't bad either. One thing to say about the HB though is the neck radius is much flatter than a typical strat at 350mm vs. 238mm

I think they’ve come on a lot in the past couple of years but they’re entry level guitars certainly feel that way. I think you’ve got to spend £150+ on an HB to get a half decent feeling axe. Greetings from the colonies, Richard. Squier Bullet looks great and a full 1.65 " at 1st fret, unlike the more expensive Squier Affinity which is 1.62". Not to mention far better fretboard on the Bullet. The Harley is too flat a fretboard IMO to qualify it's a s standard Strat. 9.5 " on The Bullet, 13.75 " on the Harley- shredder territory, not classic rock. Specs differ to avoid lawsuits.
@thenovicenoisemaker3 жыл бұрын
Hello my friend and thank you for watching and commenting. I completely agree about the fret board radius, not a fan at all. This particular Bullet is a real gem and is better than the current Bullets by a long way. The HB is ok for what it is but the Squier wins hands down. Good point in the Affinity too, I’ve had a couple of them and Standard too.

Interesting review. I've had my St-20 HSS sunburst for 2 years now, it was a bit rough but for £70 at the time I had little to complain about. One advantage of the thicker body was that I upgraded the tremolo to a wilkinson style with a thicker block and unlike the squier it won't poke out of the back. I removed the string tree from the D/G strings because it didn't need it. Interesting that you say the HB has jumbo frets, mine certainly aren't.
@thenovicenoisemaker3 жыл бұрын
@@SuperMozzman thank you for watching and commenting. I have an older HB L500 and that is quite different to the newer SC450 and 550s; looks like some design changes over time. This one certainly has bigger frets than any of my medium jumbo guitars. Good point about the body thickness. I’ve got the squier hard tailed and the sustain is surprisingly good. One interesting thing for me was that I bought an HB HSS in red with maple finger board a while back and it was terrible. This new one is way better in every aspect

@@thenovicenoisemaker Good to see they've improved it , I'd sure have loved jumbo frets as that is the one thing I'd still change but can't justify the cost right now.
