I bought the humbucker version of this guitar and have to say it’s one of my favorites to play and to be honest the quality is right there when compared to my American tele. Great value! Let’s hope Thomann doesn’t start jacking up the prices.

Yes, these guitars are great value for money. They can be made excellent with a few mods (as I've just found out). Put Tonerider Vintage Plus pups in my Harley Bention TE-20. The bridge pup is bright (not harsh) and the neck pup is strat-like (not muddy). When both pups are combined (in parallel and series) they are humbucking. Added a 4-way switch which really expands the range by adding pups wired in series. :) I was going to buy a Fender Player tele later this year, but that's unlikely now. ;)

I bought this guitar too weeks ago and I really do not regret it. When I received it I changed the strings immediatly ( Dean Markley Blue steel) and maybe need a little setup of the neck because the space between it and the strings is too high for me wich removes a bit of play confortability. Also the neck pickup can be changed for a better quality one ( the origin one is very nice but can be upgrade easily ) for about 20$ only. I did all these upgrades and the guitar really looks like an expensive Telecaster. It has the look, the sound and the feeling of a very good guitar that you can play at home and on stage. Great video btw, subded ! Edit: in 2021 This model has some upgrades and cost 159€

sounds stupid, but I don't have an amp, so my playing it is unplugged... however, the TE 30 is alive. if you've been playing a while, you know what a good electric will sound like when plugged in from playing it unplugged. frets and neck needed a light sanding, but nothing much. There is a blemish on the paint on mine, so HB gave me a slight discount.. Seriously, for a final price of around £70, I got an ash body maple neck Tele.. unreal.

I started playing around like 6 months ago but on an acoustic, but that has started to get really boring and i would like to get into electric guitars. The moment guys like Rich have no problem buying this stuff or even playing it live is when companies like Gibson and Fender should start re-thinking their entire marketing mix, because this means that the product is good enough that it may likely steal consumers from the big brands. Perhaps until now it seemed that the brand was too recent and plagued by early issues which come along with rapid expansion (some faulty products, inconsistent quality output etc) but they are getting better and deliver instruments which look, feel and play like the products with a twice to four times the price tag. Basically, a lethal combination of German design and Quality Control and cheap Chinese manufacturing costs plus internalized marketing and distribution (wholesale quantities manufactured by Thomann's Chinese contractors) make for an unbeatable price point while reducing/eliminating the biggest drawbacks with Chinese knockoffs (some very bad parts, tricky and lengthy warranty-claim process, bad/non-existing Quality Control). P.S. this vid: the tone @ min 6:40 is awesome!

I have the same model just in rosewood and it sounds amazing. The rosewood model I have, the strings are through the body so that’s cool. I didn’t have to change anything on the guitar. I played a couple Mexican and US teles and I always felt like something was off keep in mind the price also. Most likely the pick ups were not my style. But anyways the pick ups on these Harley Bentons are really good for the money. You’ll be doing yourself a favor getting one. And they’re so pretty and solid you treat em like a 500+ dollar guitar haha

So I had about 20 seconds of buyer's remorse after a late night online impulse buy. Then I watched this video. First off: your playing is just sublime. That's all I can say. Literally the first time I've seen someone break out the EVH style fret tapping on a Tele. Anyway, I'm a huge fan of up-cycling lower end instruments. This one plus shipping beat even a Squier tele. Lately, though, I've been a big fan of Indio, Glarry, and hopefully soon Harley Benton. Fender and Gibson should be on notice though, for sure.

Hi Rich, after watching this video I ordered I TE 30 from Tolman which took a while to get (3 weeks) and when it arrived I was afraid to open the box and the look on the mailman’s face I think he was also afraid that the guitar was probably mangled judging by the condition of the shipping cardboard box and he swore they received it from DHL in that condition, well I opened it just so he could also be a witness in case it was damaged, luckily after taking the guitar out of the mangled box it was in perfect condition but a day later I discovered that the frets on the neck made this guitar unplayable they were sticking out so much that you could literally cut your fingers running your hand up and down the neck both sides not sure what it would cost to have this fixed but I am sure it will add to the cost of the guitar, it sounds like your guitar arrived without any issues including the frets.

If you have an issue with any instrument from Thomann I highly recommend get back in touch with them - don't give up - they have a no hassle return policy - use it.

Hey Rich, at the time you bought that HB TE-30 it cost only 89 euros here in Europe ... Now, today in Dec. 2020 they increased the price 35% in less than 2 years it now costs 120 euros. Okay, okay, it's still 120 euros which is 130 USD, I've payed over 2K for guitars so what's the big deal right? But the thing is this model is selling like crazy ... it's always out of stock and I wanna get my hands on one just to see the the big deal is and I can't. Mike.

They are two very different guitars. Dc jr has one p90 in the bridge. The Te-30 is a telecaster with a bridge and neck pickup. Hard to say, kind of comes down to personal tastes.

You were lucky. the guitar sounds pretty much like a tele. You couldn't tell the difference in a blindfold test. Can you go out and make a living with it? (my personal criteria) It would seem that you could, so you paid $100 for a solid, reliable and musical tool. Hang on to it- someday your grandchildren will play it.

I bought a Harley-Benton TE-70(Black,W/gold paisley print).Difference between the TE-30 is real Brass saddles,& string through body on the TE-70.It was only $40 bucks more than $99($144 to be exact). I also bought mine on a whim,and.....MAAAAAAN!!!.does that Roswell bridge pickup sound great. I have fallen in love with this guitar by accident. If you get the inkling you can click on to my channel & see and hear it played through a Fender super Reverb with just a tad of delay on it.Virtually no distortion,I do have the gain on 2 and a half or 3.These are incredible guitars for the money.I'm going to order a Stratocaster from them next.I've been playing the same 1980 USA made Stratocaster since I bought it new in 1980.I want to see how their Strats hold up to Fender's.I personally think that these Tele's are better than any Squier Tele I've ever played.I would put these "Telecasters" up against a Mexican made one ANYDAY... great video man nice demo....my demo doesn't have the quality,& editing expertise of your's,but you can still hear how good it sounds.

Both great tremolo systems.

Everything Music and Guitar Shenanigans, keep in mind that Thomann has a flat rate shipping charge of about $35 for any order up to 31 Kg. So if your budget allows you could probably order 6 or 7 guitars for the one fee.
