For what it's worth, I'm 5'8" on a good day and I have a 2014 Dyna Fat Bob (my first bike in 25 years) and it fits me well...almost "like a glove". The forward controls are not uncomfortable or unusable. I love the bike; it's great. If you come across one and you're reading this, don't judge it until you sit on it. Great video. Thanks.

Had my late 2013 fatty in UK from new, love a spin on my own and brilliant with wife on back. Quick change to back rest and sundowner seat and all set for me and wife for long trips. I’m 6 ft 1 inch and forward controls are perfect, such a perfect bike 2 up.8 years on and at the age of 53 can never see myself changing it, had many bikes over years but fatbob always brings a smile and admiring stares.....love it 👍

I have a 2011 dyna fat bob in candy orange, picked it up with only 2k miles, rsd intake, v&h exhaust, cam'd up, and led taillight. I'm currently in the process of installing 16" hcc jarhead bars, avon grips, lowering kit, and a saddlemen step up seat. this spring I'm getting rid of the chunky stock tires for a smooth riding set of avon cobras and it's getting a headlight swap from a 2019 fatboy

Cheers Mate 🍻 very good video on information on this model... I currently have a 1991 custom Softail.. had a accident in October & if I get it back & I'm not happy with it I'm think'n of a 2018/2020 Fat Bob.. Love the light, & 114 is drawing me to it... Plus because my chapter does a lot of Kilometres each MTH, I still want a no screen bike, even though I do love Street &Road glide's just way out of my price range ATM.. So just weight up multiple options.. Even may just Cam my old Evo 🤷🍻🤙🏻

I love my 2016 Street Bob. The only thing I can compare it to is the 2001 Dyna FXDXT I had. I put thousands of highway miles on that baby.👍🏻 I like the old Dyna suspension better. I’ve got Progressives on mine. And I like that the seat height is lower on the Dyna. Ground clearance is important to me. I live in the Ozark Mountains, and it doesn’t drag metal in the twisties. Mine is Stage 2, so I’ve got more than 100 lbs of torque. I know this is about the Dyna Fat Bobs. But I see the comparisons as they are in the Street Boba too. I’ll stick with my Dyna, thank you.

Glad u like the video. I am a fan of the new headlight but I must say most folks don't like it. Swapping it over is going to come down to the diameter of the upper portion of the forks where the shroud and hardware mount and the width of the forks. If it were me, I would see if anyone else had done it and if so inquire with them. If not, then head down to your local dealership and take some measurements. The parts guys r likely going to say "no it won't fit" and that's that, but where there's a will there's a way. Lastly I might see if a kit already exists for your bike.

I just bought a "17 Dyna FB with 19 miles after riding the 2020 FB. The M8 is great, the suspension miles above the Dyna, the fuel range is and will always be the deal breaker. I'm not sure who at the MoCo made the decision to put a peanut tank on the new bike but that was a dumb move.

I hear this a lot & I get why it's a turn off for some. I've ridden nonstop for well over 200 miles on more occasions than I can recall....however nowadays (I'm 58 yrs old) I'm more than ready to get off & stretch my legs more often. I have a stage 1 kit on my 2020 FXFBS 114 and I'm close to 250lbs. I'm getting at LEAST 47mpg....including roughing her up a bit now & then. 150 easy before I need fuel. I don't think the range is as big an issue....to some, as it's made out to be. I know this doesn't apply to everyone, just playing Devil's advocate. I also have a couple 1 litre fuel bottles that I can toss in the bag if needed.

@@ronpuchalski6388 I'm 57 myself and rode to Alaska in 2018 and this new FB back from NYC to Florida. While I can't imagine going back to Alaska on this bike, there is something to be said for riding any distance without range anxiety. The 2020 FB can NOT make a night run to Pensacola from Ocala unless you ride the Interstate something I personally rarely do.

The Fat Bob is the one that would make me go back to Harleys. It looks straight out of Mad Max, the bike you ride after the apocalypse… Besides, it's supposed to be extremely confortable, which would be a change from my Triumph Street Twin (which I love to bits nonetheless !)

I have 7500 miles in one season on my 2020 Fat Bob. I'm 5-10/5-11 & it is comfortable. I regularly do 150-250 mile rides..rarely do I go 100 miles before taking a stretch break. The factory seat is pretty good for an HD. Just ordered a saddlemen seat to stretch a bit more comfort out of her but the FB is a bike that does everything well. Great for cruising the back roads, tons of fun in the twisties & can let you rack up miles.....I've had everything under the sun from dirt bikes, dual sports, rice rockets & cruisers.....this is my favorite bike to date & I'm coming off a bagger.

The softail is better in every conceivable way when it comes to performance and handling. I get why some people prefer the more classic look of the Dyna though. Everyone mentions the smaller fuel tank on the softail Fat Bob but i find it to be sufficient without spoiling the looks. It's still miles better than the peanut tanks on the sportsters.

Apologies for the slow/late response. The foot controls were actually moved back a bit by the previous owner. They were somewhere between forward and true mid. The brackets/supports were custom made/powder coated. I’m sorry I don’t have a good picture or better answer to share as I’ve since sold that bike. Best of luck!

I want to know which one handles the twisties better, which one is more composed when you are scrapping the pegs. I have ridden sport bikes for over 20 years and know I have moved onto Harley’s. I find it near impossible to find a real world review where they discuss handling issues. Let’s face it, 32 degrees of lean angle is not much, it’s normal to expect that the average rider will use all of it up.
@aztriumphster
@aztriumphster 2 ай бұрын
The Softail far out handles the Dyna from the factory. During the time that I owned my Softail Fat Bob I added an extension to the rear shock lifting the rear an inch. You can also slide the fork tubes down about a half inch elevating the front slightly. Those 2 mods plus a set of mid controls and ull have urself a fun bike to ride that performs well in the twisties.
@Jluck78
@Jluck78 2 ай бұрын
@@aztriumphsterthanks for the info, I appreciate it. I was finding it hard to get real world info about handling, this is helpful. I am leaning towards the Dyna chassis Fatbob simply because of the lower cost. I had to replace the suspension on my other Harley’s, I just assume this one will need a set of aftermarket emulsion shocks like Ohlins or Legends (just the basic shocks with rebound adjustment does wonders), stiffer fork springs and thicker oil. I think this might do the trick.

@@aztriumphster I had cash in hand this morning and went to test ride the Fat Bob. It was immaculate, the seat/pegs/bars fit me like a glove, and I feel in love with it immediately. I've ridden a lot of bikes since '81 when I got my first one and this Fat Bob was the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden, but it was the first cruiser bike I've ever been on, so I had no clue it'd be so hard to force into a turn. That kind of threw me off, so I'm still on the fence about it.

@aztriumphster 2 жыл бұрын
@@GunNut37086 thats a shame. Even though its a cruiser, It should be that difficult to throw into a turn. Usually that an indicator of something wrong with the tires. Either tire pressure or the shape of the tire carcas. It could also be the suspension. I've owned and ridden a variety of new and vintage, sport and cruiser motorcycles. All handled differently but none handled poorly. My '19 softail is one of the best handling bikes I've owners.
