Our family has a long history of service members...be it sailors/airmen/soldiers/Marines....there's been a few of each sprinkled about the family tree.....haven't had a puddle pirate yet, but we can overlook poor decision making if we need to🤣 From myself, and all of our family that served....thank you to ALL who have taken that oath❤️🫡

I welded a gas tank. I filled it with Coca-cola and let it sit in the Texas summer sun for 3 days, rinsed it out with water and no gas smell. It didn't blow up, either. Pro tip: when you set it up for welding point the filler opening facing away from you just in case it flashes off!

buy a 4x8 sheet of blueboard insulation 2" works well-------- buy the right glue, the wrong kind will eat the insulation like gas eats styrofoam. cut into pieces to make a box that will cover compressor with a lot of clearance so it don't get hot, put box over compressor----------------------- makes it a lot quieter, I have a compressor that is at least as loud and this helped mine A LOT!!! put a couple of holes about 1/2 inch so from floor so it will get air , if you have a cardboard box right size, glue or just duck tape insulation to outside of the box. I did this to the one in my work van and it made it so you can stand to be in van when it kicks on

I just threw out an old 1970's plug in battery charger I found in my dad's garage while cleaning it out... I didn't know it would have been perfect for electrolysis. I've heard people saying those cheap Amazon Chinese carbs can be good. I'm sure it's a crap shoot. I recently bought a couple 50 dollar Ebay Russsian carbs (clones of the Ural carbs I believe). I put them on a 70's Triumph T140 and they actually work great. No modifications needed. I'm also having a good luck with cheap amazon batteries. They're a 4th or 5th the price of the Yuasa or other name brand batteries and they work great. I have one that's been sitting at 13.10 volts since I put it in the bike. My expensive batteries never had a resting voltage over 12.7. We'll see how long they last, but so far I'm happy.

Yeah, gravity feed gas is 0.4psi per foot of drop, so you are looking at maybe 1psi max fuel pressure, to push any crud through any restrictions, which isn't near enough, hah. This dude is my fave of your regular guests on your channel, hah.

There's a little more to it than that tho.... The high frequency vibrations that bikes make while running will actually act somewhat like a ultrasonic cleaner(albeit much slower) and will shake big chunks of debris into smaller chunks..... eventually, these small particles WILL make it thru the filter, and into the carb!!( This is why you typically see the "brown paste" in the bottom of a float bowl....it's the small stuff that made it thru, then sat in the bowl and clabbered together when the fuel evaporated!!)..... End of the day, filters are a safeguard, NOT a solution!! Glad you're enjoying it!!...we're getting weirder as the days go by🤣🤘

Did ya know that if you have one of battery chargers with the " Logic Circuit" . If you have a old battery laying around you can hook the charger to the battery and then hook your project up to that battery while it's on the charger.

I LOVE THE CLONE HSR 42!! Have one on my 1700 Road Star and a real one on my EVO. The float always gets stuck on the real Mikuni. The clone is flawless. Thanks for the great videos!

I run a HSR on my roadie as well....do you have the TPS sensor hooked up on yours?(You SHOULD!!).... It's actually pretty easily done

@@JoeTheMountainJedi Oh man, thanks for the reply. Heck yes I do. I made a bracket out of some hardware store aluminum angle stock that bolts to the body of the carb. I had to modify it up a bit, but all in it cost me about 2 bucks in materials to hook it up. Anyway, thanks for the sweet videos. I took a lot away from the fork oil change video. Peace!

@@eaytc6968 man, if you don't mind, shoot me some pics over on the patreon site!!.... I've ✅ ne several of these now, and honestly, I'd MUCH rather use the OEM tps sensor, but due to space/clearance issues, I've always made an extension for the throttle shaft with a drive tab milled into it, and used a late model Suzuki TPS sensor mounted on the opposite side of the carb from the throttle cables
