I have the same red light issue. At first it would happen at highway speeds on 6th gr. And eventually shut off , lately from start it stays on ,the only light that stays on is the little red lamp. Wondering if same situation.i will begin to tender battery again and chk. Connections.

Mine comes on when its not over 1500 rpms. It goes from 14.2 to 12.5 when the bike gets hott and at idle. I changed the voltage regulator and tested battery. Idk what else to check

Just had the same issue happened to me the other day... Been trouble shooting it like crazy. Im gonna check out the connectors you just mentioned and hopefully that'll be the trick

Voltage regulator is screwed, dc voltage should be no more than 14v. ECM records a high voltage.

My battery was dead so jump started it and now if the red light come on it normally cuts out at the light so have to keep the revs up so I don't stall. Needs a new battery.

I have a 2012 dyna fat bob and having this issue I put a new voltage regulator on it ran fine for afew days now my battery light is back on had the battery on the charger it read 12.95 took the charger off and checked it and it dropped to 12.65 in 45 minutes took 2 hrs to get it back up to 12.95 any ideas

Bad placement of connections at the regulator

Check your TPS. Throttle positioning sensor. Mine went out, same immediate symptoms, one cylinder chugging. Needed a new TPS.

What is the red light on the gauge? Mine just lit up after riding away from my dealership after a 10k mile service

anything over 15 volts at idle sounds like a problem with your regulator. try at about 2000 rpm it should read about 14.5 volts max.

Just had mine die on me randomly light gauge looked like a christmas tree i though she was blown! Turns out i didn't crank the screw on tight enough when I installed my underglow. Happy trails!

I'm late to the party but I searched for this after watching your vid. That charging voltage, 15.78 seems a bit high. That Fluke meter is high quality so I'm confident you got accurate readings.
