Pretty sure you can check coils for resistance to assure their condition. Done in seconds.

Thank you mate! It’s actually super easy to import and rego these things. Only problem is bikes in the states are starting to become more expensive than ones here in Aus!!

Panheads last year was 1965. Generator (flat side) Shovelheads were produced from 1966 through 1969. Alternator (cone) Shovelheads started in 1970. Nice looking bike. I didn't get past about 1 minute, I've been riding more than 50 years with two Harleys in the garage, don't care for your word choice or mis-information.
