The funnest part of riding this bike is the sound it makes when you twist the throttle. It leaves me with permagrin for about an hour after I get off. It’s an addiction.

I started riding H-D’s as a teen on a ‘72 XLCH and I have to say they’ve really come a long way. This new M8 is my favorite engine by far. No more crank issues and the few issues they had with the engine thanks to the EPA have been addressed. I put over 100k on my TC96 before trading it in and am expecting this M8 to go just as far before a rebuild. We will see.

I agree with that. My brother has a 1976 FXE. That bike will shake you apart. The AMF bikes had a deserved bad reputation. It leaks a lot of oil, shakes like a paint shaker, has a lot of little problems. But it sounds very unique and you just don’t see them around anymore. It’s kinda like a new Challenger vs a 1970. The old one may be worse in some ways but it has a lot of character

I just rode a 2016 dyna twin cam 103 with a stage 1 yesterday, followed by a 2018 slim, M8 107 with slip ons, and the power difference between those two bikes back to back was 🤯💥🇺🇸 drastic comes to mind. The entire ride quality, handling, feel, shifting, literally everything about the M8 slim was far superior to the twin cam dyna. I say that but I still wanted the dyna more! Go figure? It rumbled and shook, and sounded like an angry beast and I loved it!! Then I rode a ‘21 FXLRS with the 114, stock, left over from last year and I bought it!! Amazing bike in every way. IMO whatever that’s worth?

Awesome vid, thanks! I traded my 08 kick-ass blacked out springer with 16" apes which I still love btw, for a 19 Ultra Limited (YES, I'm getting old) and it was the best thing I ever did, no regrets. I cruise at 80, tunes cranking and hear them perfectly with extreme comfort and enough power to twist it and pass whoever I need to. I looked at Indian, BMW, etc. but just love the style of a HD better...

Thanks a lot for this nice video! I just bought a 2019 road glide 107ci and its a huge improvement over the 103ci Ultra Limited I had before. One thing you didn’t mention in your video is the primary drive on the M8 is much smoother than the twin cam bikes especially at low speed in second gear. It also seems like the primary chain case is narrower on the M8 than the twin cam but that might be my imagination. I’ve been riding 25 years, all kinds of bikes...Honda, Triumph, Yamaha, Harley...I’m very happy with my new M8.

Been riding Harleys since 1972. In the old days we didn’t buy bikes, we built them. Brought home my first Panhead in boxes. Had sportsters, pans, shovels, and twin cam. Just bought 2020 Breakout in Stiletto red. Best bike I’ve ever owned, blows all the others away. Most problems with engines can be traced back to the loose nuts behind the handlebars!

That's a signature Harley thing. Want a baby smooth bike then ride a honda. I'd rather feel the roughness of an old Harley then any of the new ones. Harkey has lost so many customers with their new bikes and the way they look. Look at the new bobber. Queerest looking bike they make it's not a bobber anymore. Glad I got my 17 dyna before they stopped.

@@wyattsmith9791 you guys are holding Harley back. I'm glad Harley has started making bikes for the modern rider. All you old heads are going to die soon and you just can't help but bring Harley to the grave with you. Harleys new bikes are better in every way from engineering to looks. Now with the sportster s, the nightster and the Pan American we finally see Harley making brand new modern motorcycles that are actually able to compete and beat Japanese bikes. Soon its going to be all new generations of Harley fans that actually appreciate the engineering that Harley puts into their new bikes instead of crying because Harley uses more reliable and better performing technology.

The last bike I had was an ‘89 Yamaha VMax I sold in 96 or so. I moved to Florida and decided to get back into riding again. I’ve always wanted a Harley and have ridden a few of my friends and family members’ throughout the years and liked them. I bought an Iron 883 in January and three weeks later, I traded it for a Low Rider. One thing I noticed immediately was the lack of vibration relatively speaking and a nice amount of torque all the way through the power band. I’m really happy with it and have enjoyed having any excuse to ride it.

Traded in my 06 Fat boy and 15 Street Glide Special on 19 Tri Glide 114 cc. The reduction in heat is the best. More torque and power. HD did their home work. This Milwaukee 8 is the best yet. Continually surprise the cagers at how quick I leave the light. Takes a little time to get use to the trike after 49 years on two wheels. Never took to my 08 Electra Glide Ultra. Couldn't get past the heat and the height center of gravity with a rider and the tour pack loaded.

Awesome and well worded video . My 2018 FXLR Low Rider is the best I’ve ever had . ( I’ve owned 13 H-D’s in 43 years ; oldest was a 53’ FL panhead ) I do believe this is Milwaukee’s best effort - with only (2) complaints . 1.) I don’t agree with the placement of the factory installed oil cooler . This was a great addition to the engine , however it totally blocks the “ clean air “ to the front cylinder . I do believe that , like some aftermarket oil coolers on the market , it could have been catching its own clean air off to the left of the frame’s front down tube . This would have allowed the front cylinder to continue to receive its clean air as it always has . 2.) the brakes , although “ better “ , are very inconsistently set up . I have spoken to many a riders of this new softail . They ALL agree that the front brakes are too sensitive , and most men agree that two fingers is the safer and more common way that they apply them . The rear brakes require that you use unnecessary application from your right boot to get the bike to slow / stop . When speaking to my trusted dealership that I have frequented since 1988 ; they explained that the “ engineering department “ at H-D did this intentionally to encourage the use of “ more front brake “ . I shook my head and wondered why they couldn’t let the novice rider learn to ride and not dumb down the pressure required for the rest of us . Also I would have liked to hear more about the M-8’s compression release described and perhaps seen the inside parts and how it works in this very informative video . Thanks for this job well done .

Definitely a great work by Harley Davidson. Reducing the shake and heat is probably the best thing that the new engine offers. My brother has a Dyna Wide Glide 2013, and even during a good weather (22°c - 28°c), he sometimes can't stand the heat of the engine. But I'm mostly interested in the new FXDR. Is it going to be the V Rod replacement? Or is it a V Rod wanna be? Can't wait till you review it Blockhead.

My personal bikes are a 95 FLHT Electra Glide Standard with the Evo and a 83 FXSB Lowrider with the Shovelhead. I always loved the sound and coolness of the Shovel and the absolutely bulletproof reliability of the Evo. Not that I care too much about reliability with the M8 since we have a dedicated, full-time mechanic to work on the bikes. But, I also don’t want to have a shop queen either. So far the guys that already have them like them, especially since they have hydraulic clutches.

I gotta compliment you on reading the spec sheet accurately, but nearly every reviewer talks about the increase in HP and torque at RPM. Just talking numbers doesn't tell the story of the M8 performance. What makes the M8 impressive is the fact that it achieves approx. 90% torque output at 2100 RPM, and sustains that level past 4000 RPM. The torque curve on this motor is high and flat, check out a dyno run chart, not just the numbers.

Do a video on the Street lineup or the Revolution X engine, the Street Rod is probably the only note worthy bike out of the lineup with a dual throttle body, hemi piston heads, upgraded fuel injectors and upgraded cams. The revolution x engine in the street Rod is also liquid cooled, and no counter balancers, so you can redline at 9000 RPM and feel every bit of it, in my opinion, it’s an absolutely amazing bike, only 750 CC 64 cubic in, but stock it has 18% more hp and 8% torque over the normal 750 cc revolution x engine that’s in the Street 750. I ran a low 13 sec 1/4 mile on it with pump gas and stock muffler and air intake, yes I said low 13 STOCK, my buddy has a S&S 114 cubic in engine in his road king and he runs 11s

Sounds like with the new oil cooled heads, this new design for them might be the primary cause for oil sumping which is an issue the can't seem to correct with what now, 8 new/replacement oil pumps?

So...10% more torque from a 4% bigger engine? Eh...not to excited about that. But I do like that they have finally gotten on board with cooling and the 4 valve 2 spark plug heads...my 00 vulcan has those and it makes a big difference.

Absolutely love my '19 Heritage 107. Dealer wanted it back, marketing ploy- IDK. I responded what, why? I absolutely love this bike - NO... Not a word since. I've owned many and rode many, but of all I absolutely love this bike...

I was surprised to read that part about the cam and then “ chain “ ! I just bought a 2018 FXLR Low Rider and I was under the impression that it would be “ gear driven “ ???

Nice video and fun to see what HD is up to lately. Third generation HD rider but now am on a Triumph. I wish the roads around here weren't so treacherous for motorcycles , may have to give up the sport.
