Dig it.. been running my 2016 heritage with just the solo seat, removed my driver backrest, passenger seat, sissy bar, luggage rack. rides like a new bike. I would consider installing this quick release for the saddlebags. But I've just learned that, I'm ALWAYS putting something into the saddle bags.. just too convenient :)

I will say, you HAVE to make sure you firmly click the bags into the LOCK position... If you don't, well... you may be watching it in the rear view mirror (like I did this summer)... lol

So you got a removable sissybar and removable saddlebags... Very, very practical! But do you think, both of them, move the saddlebags far from the bike so that it looks... kinda weird?? I can't tell from the video! Is it noticable? I mean the difference of how it looks?

Do you know if you can install these with bag stiffeners?

I wish you would have went into detail on the docking kits and part numbers required to do this with the quick detatch backrest as well. I guess I will make a detailed video when I do mine so others will have all the info needed to get this done on their bike. I did determine from looking at your video that I will need 2 or maybe even 3 different kits to get the install done for both quick detatch passenger backrest and quick detatch saddlebags, that ends up being well north of $400. I wish Leatherpros hadn't disco'd their hard saddlebags as they are FAR superior than stock and have a super cool and quick detatch mounting system.

Did you happen to buy the magnetic covers for the docking hardware on your rear fender (for when you don’t have your bags or rack installed)?

Hi mike great news I just received my conversion kit I was very happy to start but I forgot to buy the docking kit, I see there’s two types to choose from, one which I think you can also use for the sissy bar/luggage rack is that the docking kit you have installed? And was hd the only place you could find them or can I find them somewhere a little more reasonably priced? Thank you for any advice you can throw my way I’m hesitant to drill into my bags but your video helped me out with that.

Was it just that part number or did you order another part as well? We haven't ordered the bracket for the saddle bags yet but we have the mounting kit and it seems off like a few pieces are missing, Docking Kit P/N 90200670. We were gonna put the docking kit on for the sissy bar and buy the saddle bag kit later.

Typical Harley shit, every other company has been making removable saddlebags for ever, in fact my 2003 Indian Spirit has detachable bags, my 2002 Yamaha v star and my wife 2002 yamaha v star all have detachable saddlebags. All Harley wants to do is screw the customer by having to spend more money on their aftermarket products by nickel & dime the customer. Just like the Harley saggy bag problem, every other company does not have saggy leather bags, but Harley does and they do nothing to fix the problem because they know they can screw you into buying a fix when it should have been done from the start. Harley is nothing but a shit company that only cares about the dollar it can squeeze, this is in their Heritage (no pun intended) and dates way back to their questionable business practices from the beginning.
