It's not in his head. In the first Joker movie, the girl with her daughter was all in his head. In this movie Arthur is asked " What has changed ?" He says " What has changed is he is not alone anymore. That's what we should be talking about " So he really is with Harley Quinn. It's not in his head.

I’d imagine like the first movie… And like American psycho… That if they do something like this, they’ll keep with the theme of where you’re not supposed to be sure if it’s real or not. Which is obviously a play on the fact that the person having the hallucinations doesn’t know if they’re real or not.

Can I just ask why you and so many other people seem to think that? I keep seeing people comment similar things about this movie and maybe I’m just completely missing something or maybe y’all know something I don’t, but I haven’t seen anything that would, in any way, suggest that it’s going to be a musical. (Thankfully, because turning this into a musical sounds like an awful idea lol) So, I figured I’d might as well take the opportunity and just ask since according to your comment,you clearly seem to feel the same way as the rest of those comments I’ve seen saying that they think it’s going to be a musical. Is it just because Lady Gaga is in it or something ? I seriously just don’t get it lol 🧐🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

@@juliegray7665 Bruce is like 10 in Joker 1 I think. Joker is around 32 or something. But Bruce becomes Batman at 26. So 26-10= 16. In 16 years Joker will be 48 and Batman 26. They can fight then. Joker's actor could play that age with a little makeup and part of the theme could be that he's getting older while he fights Batman. It actually makes perfect sense to me with how Joker has always treated Bats.

I don’t think it’s gonna be a musical in the way people are assuming (something like sound of music or something where the characters burst into song every 5 minutes). Rather I think we’re just going to have a couple of scenes where music is featured and maybe one scene where Gaga sings or something. It’s probably going to be more along the lines of Joker where Arthur would dance along to music only he could hear (like after killing those 3 Wall Street guys and he starts dancing in the public bathroom or when he’s going down the stairs and dancing, etc)

As soon as I heard there was music, I knew that it would be in his mind. Not a stretch to assume in my opinion. It aligns with how he saw the apartment girl in the first film. Joker also likes theatrics.

Also, there was a leaked scene were police came to take in Arthur for whatever crimes he committed and they paid no attention to Harleen. Which makes me think, yes; yes, this is all in his mind and possibly still in Arkham. 💯

It would be so dumb if this was all in his head, cos it would just be repeating what happened with his neighbour from the first movie. It’s much better if the two characters exist within this one delusion of their own creation, which is where the musical aspects will likely come into play. I think they will hear this music together, which is much more powerful thematically. To make Harley another figment of Arthur’s imagination would be missing the point.

That would suck/devalue this movie and first. But that would never happen cuz the director said back in the first movie this is a totally different take on the joker, with none of that comic fall in an acid vat bleach skin bullshit but a more grounded “realism”. We already get so many stories like that, this is better for this universe.

Besides, we all know she was a doctor but the trailer shows her being the patient. It's def all in her head, for the most part. The ending will be about...showmanship...in a manic/delusional way...bc it'll be all about spreading his "madness" to the world. Given the ending will be for the viewer

Folie a duex is a condition where one sane person is so wrapped up with an insane person that they begin to share their delusion. As long as they r together they have a joint psychosis. However, once separated the sane person will eventually go back to “normal” while the insane person will continue with their delusion. A great example is a set of French twins who grew up only communicating with each other and eventually became violent with each other as well as sexually involved. They committed a violent crime but once separated one twin who was also the weaker of the two was able to recover bc she wasn’t under her sisters delusional control

This would be too banal, as we already had such twist in the Joker 1 with another girl. If I remember correctly, this movie will be told from the perspective of Harley, so all the music is happening in her head more likely. And maybe it will be indeed a shared madness, and Joker will hear the same music as well.

Here’s where you went wrong though. She’s not a doctor in this movie. She’s a patient meaning she’s already in some way deranged. So in some ways it’s very possible that she becomes Harley.

Arthur would see Dr. Quinzel exactly as a patient since he sees her mental instability. Given the title eventually the good doctor may start showing actual signs of that but maybe a 3rd movie for the actual transformation. Not the best way to go about it though.

Its never "its all in his mind".. joker is a story teller.. he tells story . U just have to choose which part is true and which part is made up . First story is just joker telling the story. It might not be true at all, half might be true or it all could be true .. no one knows except joker himself. The fact is, he is joker. He is a story teller. He tells u whatever he wanted whether its facts or lies. Conclusion, the first movie is pointless. Its just joker telling us a story.
