The Don't Nod team has made another beautiful game, full of story and choices to make, but how does Harmony: The Fall of Reverie bring a fresh take to choice-based narrative game play?
In the very near future… When Polly returns home after a few years abroad to look for her missing mother, she quickly realizes that her hometown has drastically changed. A megacorporation named MK is using its power to control the population, and her community is in danger.
She soon discovers that she has a gift of clairvoyance that connects her to Reverie, the realm of the Aspirations of Humanity: Glory, Bliss, Power, Chaos, Bond, and Truth. In this world, Polly becomes Harmony, a goddess who has the power to choose the Aspiration that will ultimately rule over Reverie and restore the delicate balance between the deities’ world and ours.
The fate of humanity is at stake. To which destiny do you aspire?

The shot at 7:45 is just fascinating to me. I had to rewatch it multiple times. Very simple graphically, but the change from thinking it's a shot of clouds above the sea, to then be a bathtub, was very satisfying to watch. Adding this to my list.

So glad to hear the praise. I've loved Don't Not since Remember Me first came out. Even though they don't always hit the mark they always try brave or interesting things and I respect the hell out of them for it.

The game mechanic is such an intertesting way to tie event tree with the lore of the game. If the game does a great job with the writing that makes me forego my initial event path plan, that would be amazing! Can't wait to try this out

Kinda sad, I think ACG’s tagline, “A story that goes nowhere,” I was worried about the game. Glad to hear your positive review.

@@pooty195 This. I literally agree with his verdicts 90% of the time, but he definitely missed the mark on this one. I just finished the game and I'm absolutely stunned by the world Don'tNod created.

All soulsborne games, Hitman, Skyrim, and Control have a TON of lore that you should pause to read to understand better what the game just told you, no? Is this game different in this regard? Or does it feel different because of how necessary it is to read or the game's genre?

Probably feels different because none of the games you mentioned are VNs. Even if you don’t pause and read everything in those games, you still have an understanding/enjoyment of what’s going on (due to cutscenes where things are explained to you and exploration, physically living in the world). VNs are more reliant on actually needing the player to READ because the game is mostly, if not completely, dialogue. If you skip past it, you have no point of reference for what’s happening.

jesus christ, is the main character transgender? you could cut diamonds with that jawbone. reminds me of why the japanese animation style looks so much better. anyway, i won't be playing this game because it seems woke as fuck for something with such simplistic gameplay. another game that falls into the trope of "every black woman has a massive afro", it's like the developers have never even seen a black person IRL before, which would actually make a lot of sense.

I think she's just older, your jawline can become more pronounced as you age(even in women). It's going for realism rather than trying to make everything fuckable.
