Watch the video, look at the wheels, make your own decisions. Nobody including Haro gave us a close look at these before we could buy them so here you go.

Oh ok!! So I'm not the only one to buy these beautiful rims with those little imperfections. I was a little disappointed at first cause their not exactly cheap, but soon got over it as they are just so stunning. But you know what it's true once you have them in your hands you'll never look back as they are otherwise perfect

I decided to build my first set of wheels. I went with a set of Odyssey Hazard Lite rims, a Clutch V2 freecoaster in the rear, Novatec Rebel hub on the front wheel, then laced them with DT Swiss spokes. If you like, you can check out my Performer on my channel. The bayou bar (Terry Adams) has eluded capture since I last chatted with you, but I'll continue my search until I come up on a nice one. Once I get everything to complete my bike, I'll break out the ODSY headset and purchase another Springfield Brake for the front end. The Black Ops brake works rather well since I put the chrome wheels on.The Sprngfld would really be for aesthetic purposes at this point. My brakes need a bit of dialing, so I'm currently outside pedaling around Rosedale Queens like a mad man with my unkempt beard. #BEARDGANG 👳🏿♂️ #BEARDEDLONER 🧔🏾 #WOLFEN 🐺

Yikes, for the price they should have a welded joint.
@AmazingChinaToday2 жыл бұрын
The current models have a welded joint.

These seem to be sold out everywhere. Did they suffer from a chrome peel issue?

Hi can you still buy theses and will they fit on a old school Kuwahara
@northeastmotorco5 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure if they’ll fit right in. It all depends if your forks require you to have a slotted axle. My 86 and 88 Haro Masters require a slotted axle but I just filed the dropouts on the forks a little but to allow the axles to clear. Other than that, they should absolutely fit. Just make sure you get the 3/8” set and not the 9 tooth cassette. They have 2 options for either new or old school.

Where are they made?

Taiwan but the rumors are that these factories don’t have the same QC as back in the day. I’ll say this though, to this day they are all holding up well. I have have them true’d and the other set I have got true’d before I even installed them.

How much would a set of these run me?
@northeastmotorco6 жыл бұрын
They are $300 for a set. Flatlandfuel will also throw in a 16t freewheel. These are the 3/8” like shown. flatlandfuel.com/harovintagechromeplatedhpwheelset.aspx

Northeast MotorCo If the bike isn't red, it also can be Beast Pink. Montana Black (Spray paint) has a dope matte pink that's called Beast. I think the Beast would compliment the chrome 48's a bit more than the red combo.

Yeah man it’s all about that rad paint job. I love the popping colors. I’ll ride a pink, purple, neon yellow bike. The colors are what really make it. Not like all the plain black bikes that just blend in. Go all Hollywood Mike Miranda on it. I definitely dig the time period you’re going for. That’s about when they were getting it all perfected. 1 1/8” forks and 990s front and rear. Still the right geometry for pulling all the old tricks but really making them work for the rolling flatland. Good tubing for jumping a staircase if you wanted to as you were riding to and from the spot. Just great all around bikes. Remember that they also have these wheels with a 14mm 9t cassette for the rear if you get a frame with that setup. $50 more though.

Northeast MotorCo The two things that I surely can't stand about my messenger bike is the matte black paint, and it's too tall for my liking😂. I prefer any Bike of mine to turn heads. My last Dyno (majority chrome)was hit by a cop car back in like 2,001. Sad to say that my skin sometimes gets me profiled, even though I live in a low crime suburb and also the son of a an MOS that works right where I'd be held for Court. My front rim was bent upon impact, so I decided to leave it at the property claims facility that they sent it to. The trip there just wasn't worth the aggravation of Looking at the after effects of someone's biased judgement. The assholes though that I stole something that I worked for😂! Everyone loved that chrome/black combo, so I had to keep it close to me when out and about. After a few Mtn Bikes, I just said that I can't keep spending money on what I don't really enjoy riding.

Damn... I think so many of us have a bad memory connected to how we lost our first bike that we had a connection to. That’s what made me buy a chrome Dyno Air frame and build it up. It was to replace my 97 Compe that I “lost” back in the day. I built it way better than I had. I still miss my old bike but that’s a closed chapter now. We move on to better things and let the positive overcome the negative. You’re absolutely right about riding something you like. Road bikes and mountains are fun, but it’s that free feeling of having a 20” ‘freestyle’ bike that brings back good memories. Riding every where, jumping curbs, sliding around, riding trails etc. and man nothing pops like that chrome. I had (like I do now) chrome dice on my Dyno to make that chrome stand out even more. I enjoyed riding it slow and blinging as much as riding fast. Now I’ve come to like the colors though. Build that bike. Enjoy that bike. We’re only as old as we feel and we’d better damn well live it up. Hey brother, thank you for sharing. I’d like you to post up your ride when it all comes together. Put up a bike check vid. Ride on
