Is there something else on the tip of that spear? Cause the fish looks dead at the moment of impact. I thought these fish were huge fighters. Great video though.Thanks for sharing.
@imgrindin2 жыл бұрын
I can't tell where they hit it at but I'm sure if they knock it in the spine or skull it's game set match, I was waiting for the fight as well. Maybe they tired it out on a rod and reel first?
@marleyboy77322 жыл бұрын
@@imgrindin You could be right. I didnt even think about that. Been watching a lot of deep sea fishing but never saw a tuna large or small go down that easy though.

There is a zapper that hits the fish with an electric shock and kills them instantly.

How much did you get for the two ? Once in PEI I saw 750 lb Tuna brought into port. The buyer was waiting on the dock and gave the fisherman a $26,500 check. The head and tail were removed, guess they cleaned it,then it was put into a reinforced, lined box (on a wooden skid ) full of ice and water, onto a truck for the drive to Halifax airport where it was flown to Tokyo , all within 36 hours.

This is hands down the most efficient, sustainable, and ecologically responsible way to harvest these animals. To those of you who are arguing "try catching one with real fishing equipment blah blah blah", please take into account that these guys aren't sport fishing, and also, (if you've ever even been out big game fishing) think about the last time you got spooled by a fish and the animal you killed by letting that occur. It's true bluefins are in a whole lot of trouble, but until they are on the actual endangered species list, people are allowed to fish for and keep them according to the laws of the country they sail out of. If you have an issue I recommend bothering the fine people over at the National Marine Fisheries Service or the National Oceanic And Atmospheric Administration Fisheries division, and maybe refrain from whining about it on someone's KZfaq video.
@XSRtiliry4207 жыл бұрын
if they are not "sport" fishing then WTF are they doing? survival hunting? life or death starvation? or just in it for the money, witch would bring it back to "sport" fishing... we all know people dont play "sport" just for the fun of it, and if they did do it just for the fun of it, then it would be a real sport....
@shedioglassworks60737 жыл бұрын
XSRtiliry they're selling the fish commercially. It's their job, which equates it to survival hunting. They sell the fish to make money to feed their families. How does being in it for the money equal sport fishing? Go stuff your face with kale and stfu.

Saw a 750 lb Bluefin hauled in to East Point , PEI some years back. Japanese buyer paid $26,000 on the dock. Flown in ice from Charlottetown to Halifax and non stop to Tokyo by the following day.

Lol let me know where you are buying bluefin tuna in a can. I'd love some.
@darthmal6 жыл бұрын
That's because what you get in the can is actually dolphin, which are much smaller. Don't let the "NO DOLPHIN" sticker in the can fool you. The cans are made in North Korea!
@edwinwong51896 жыл бұрын
Bluefin don’t make it into a “can” these days. Albacore and other smaller tuna do. At the biggest and best it’s yellowfin. Once upon a time bluefin tuna was considered junk. Cat food or trash. Not anymore bro. That’s all destined to be sashimi in Japan for big dollars.
