The dad, Baawaja, appears back on the nest after 13 days.
The harpy chick seeks shelter underneath dad.
Extreme windy conditions developed and a storm breaks. Baawaja, stands and protects the chick for over ten minutes with the water hitting hard on him.
The storm is over, dad is soaking wet and the chick appears completely dry.
Harpy chick´s life threats include storms and cold fronts among other extreme weather conditions. Our researchers wonder if it could have survived without the dad´s protection.
