from what I know red tails are more stubborn than Harris hawks. both are great birds though!

Awesome. I am having trouble getting my harrier hawk to fly short distances to the glove. been stuck on this stage for a month now.
@waynekieft49525 ай бұрын
Why are you stuck at that stage!
@TheBelrick5 ай бұрын
@@waynekieft4952 Hi, my bird passed away some time ago. I did pass this stage with perseverance. Unfortunately she was too friendly and trusting of other people around town :( now i have a pet magpie to keep me company, much less time demanding but i miss my baby.

What whistle are you using. And any recommendations for falconry whistles.
@TheBelrick7 жыл бұрын
they are visual creatures., the whistle is not even necessary. The raised glove is the cue.
@falconer58306 жыл бұрын
Any will work, and I have to disagree with Bel Rick there, audio queues are very important in falconry. Why else would you whistle to the fist/lure and shout the "HO" when game is flushed.
@towncountryenvironmentalpe99536 жыл бұрын
My whistle is from Ben Long falconry. It’s useful to train to the whistle so that you can recall them quickly even when out of sight.

hi whats the best hawks or falcons and what is easy to train and feed?
@greenleader45176 жыл бұрын
Harris hawk ,the one in the video is the best starter bird ,its the most Robust and has good temperament. other's in the Hawk family like Red tails are also good ,Kestrels and Falcons require a bit more experienced and Eagles should be for pros who do regular hunting in large areas
@rafaelrebotim46635 жыл бұрын
hey a Northern goshawk is "easy" to train if you are already a good falconer and its a good challenge for a begginer :)
@mangie6156 жыл бұрын
But you can not have them as pets you know why because you can in so much in trouble but the bad part is the claw it is so big go to be careful you known hawk good job training it is good

What kind of meat do you feed?
@towncountryenvironmentalpe99535 жыл бұрын
Top Dog obedience . We breed our own quail and mice. We also feed Rabbits and Squirrels that we catch as well as pigeon, turkey, chicken and venison. We like to give our birds a varied diet with 3 or 4 different meats every week

@john847536 жыл бұрын
do the birds ever not come back?
@greenleader45176 жыл бұрын
It happens ,if some one rushes the training or if another larger Raptor chases it
@lauraallen79425 жыл бұрын
Weight management is also a factor. If the birds crop is full they have little motivation to return for food.
