What variety!!!!!! So talented . This man has been thrilling me for sixty-seven years. We got old together. G-d bless him. He’s going to be ninety - four years old on March 1, 2021..

The man is a perfectionist. Everything down to the last stroke. His voice , his musicians, his back up singers , his guests- all magnificent. His choice of songs - it doesn’t matter - his concerts are so well balanced, so riveting. The greatest balladeer of the twentieth century.

In a league of his own. Now ninety - four years old.G-d bless him.

Yeah, Harry in peak form again. Very nice that some arrangements (e.g. Forever Young) sound bit different from the Japan concert from 1979. He continued to refresh that way again and again over the years. And what a awesome band, so hip and cool. Some of the members I heard couple of years later with other great jazz and world music artists. Percussionist Steve Thornton (also on the 1978 BBC-tape) would join Miles Davis in the eighties. Guitarist Jose Neto would stay with Harry until his final tour in 2003. I saw Jose Neto also performing with Airto Moreira and Steve Winwood. Percussionist Neil Clark - now called Chief Baba Neil Clarke - would stay with Harry in the eighties and mid-nineties. I saw him several times with the great jazz musician Randy Weston.

The greatest ( in my opinion) is “Darlin Cora” - “Belafonte at Carnegie Hall “ ,1959 - by far , hypnotizing . This man is so versatile. I never tire of listens to his music ,since 1954. Magnificent version of “Judy Drownded “.

In my humble opinion “O Cordelia Brown “ was equal to “Judy Drownded “ in quality but never got concert exposure. From “Sings of the Caribbean “,same album as “Judy Drownded “ , 1957 - but he could always keep them current.There were so many other superb songs he recorded that never made it to the concert hall unfortunately.
