What if I told you, Furm, that the entirety of reality is no different from dreams or delusions? It's all about faith and personal, subjective perspectives which can't be shared in full with any other individual. We're all delusional in our own way. If you think you're so sane, and if you think you can dissect and describe reality through your reason, you'll probably have to revise your opinions. Reality is a thing of emotion and imagination, reason only helps us organize what we find.

I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who thinks this. I know he was old enough to be Harry’s great grandfather but I also think he was a father figure to him. He was Harry’s protector and teacher and as Hermione said in DH, Dumbledore loved Harry. I also think Dumbledore saw that Harry had a lot in common with him and admired Harry for the fact that he didn’t succumb to temptation like Dumbledore did in his youth. I think he identified with Harry and felt especially protective of him for this reason. By helping Harry to defeat Voldemort, he was both protecting Harry and also atoning for his past sins. I loved their relationship.

I don't think Dumbledore can be called a father figure. He is someone that Harry like so many others looks towards in times of crisis, Dumbledore has always saved Harry from life threatening circumstances and have always been there to help. Dumbledore cares for Harry but most importantly, he is headmaster of a school and also the mastermind behind anti-Voldemort movement. He has to think strategically and if it means putting Harry through challenging situations for the greater good then he would do it. Sirius is the only one who could be called a father figure, not even Lupin whose more of a mentor and family friend.

Words are thoughts spoken out. In my opinion the meaning behind this particular phrase is so deep and profound. Our thoughts are the creating source of our world, we create every moment of our lives with our thoughts. Our words when spoken with disdian, hatred and anguish create unfavorable circumstances. On the other hand the spoken word of love can create paradise wherever we are. There are so many instances in harry potter movies and books that really do highlight alot about manifesting and creation. And no I'm not talking about the secret or the law of attraction. Manifesting is a deeper philosophy than that, it's more like the truth of life.
@cecilwhinter

@@khushboobatra5900 That's deep ^^ I would be inclined to agree with you :) I think words are really important & the fact that so many feelings, explanations or thoughts like you say are not capable of being said with words, is a proof that our language is unfinished. So many things need to be precise & so many things could have been solved if it was the case. Like how many times someone says ''My stomach hurts'' & it means hundreds of different things for different persons & sometimes doctors not understanding it means the death of someone that could of been saved. Or how many times can you say ''I love you'' to the one you truly love after the words don't mean anything when the moment you say it right now, you know that just saying those words is SO NOT ENOUGH to what you really feel inside.

Voldemort loses not because he lacks power, he loses because he lacks love. Harry's compassion and love for others wins against Voldemort's lust for power. This is beautifully illustrated by Narcissa Malfoy at the end of the book. She betrays voldemort out of love for her son, and the only reason she does so is because Harry saves Draco, one of his greatest enemies. That is the ultimate message of these books. I kind of get what you mean. This scene specifically encapsulates that. Idk if it’s nostalgia from the films. Maybe it is, but even without nostalgia for the era when this was shown, something about a scene like this really feels like the “Quiet End” of something _else_ besides the literal obvious end of the film. But I can’t quite put my finger on what that thing is.

One of my favorite subtle things about this scene ... is right after Dumbledore says "On", Harry turns his head and if you listen carefully, you can hear a train whistle. What Dumbledore meant when he said ... "I think if you so desired, youd be able to board a train" ... to which Harry replied "And where would it take me?" ... and then Dumbledore with "On." ... Harry had a choice of either returning to the living world since it was not him or his soul that was killed, but Voldemort's, or basically "going on" to the afterlife. That brief second where you hear that train whistle, it almost seems Harry almost had the desire to "go on", but instead, had a change of heart and choose to return to help his friends and rid Voldemort once and for all.

Eh, Yes and no. See... it *sounds* useless. "Do what you want." But every once in a while, especially when you're at a crux where you can say "end it" or "keep going" you sometimes need that useless angel who says. "Yea, I'm an angel. No, I'm not here to save you. I'm just chilling. Wanna cookie? Oh? What should you do? I'm just here to be here. Do what you want. It's not like I'm here to tell you how to live your life. That's stupid. You figure it out." Because those angels often snap something in your head that wouldn't be snapped into place with someone serious going "You got a choice to live or die and you should live because HERO!"
