Dinner"_ for example, *I think there were some scenes where he was inadvertently comedic.* Such as this scene right here, or his pronunciation of _"Avada Kedavra"_ in the forbidden forest where he almost sounded like he was constipated, his little iconic _"Ngeeahh heehee"_ laugh when he announced Harry's death which has essentially become a meme at this point, his cringeworthy awkward hug with Draco, etc. Gotta admit, I'd argue that the Philosophers Stone version of Voldemort where he still had a bit of a nose on the back of Quirrel's head was by far more how I pictured him in the books; with additional piercing red eyes and slits for nostrils.

I don't know if it's explicitly mentioned that Lucius did any torturing or murdering himself. He facilitated the deaths of others with his money, connections and influence but I didn't think he was wanted to her his hands dirty. Lucius wanted his family on tip and he was prepared to align himself with whichever system put him put in front. Going from loyal Voldemort supporter to a school Governer with his hand in the ministry. It was always about thriving and a sense of entitlement. This is the first time he has been a position where he feels expendable and that backing Voldemort was a big mistake because he is now the biggest threat the his family, not Muggleborns.

@Silver, @JoyAlways, I read character backstories before judging them and I believe Lucius was abused as a child which also makes me think that he must have been pushed into blood purity and getting rid of Muggleborns since he was born by his father, but he probably couldn’t say anything against his father probably because his father would abuse him. If you watch Lucius through out the movies, especially the last two movies, you can see him become this shell of the man he used to be and he looks absolutely distraught when his own son doesn’t acknowledge him and I believe he actually loved his son more than anything in the world. I also believed if he could go back in time and change everything and warn his younger self of what he will become, I think he would take the chance. That is why Lucius Malfoy will forever be my favourite character who I will always love and cherish, even though I get hate for loving him so much 😍❤️
@LittleMissRequiem4 жыл бұрын
Hannah Marshall I agree with you completely. On top of that, TBH Lucius got even more of a raw deal in the movies than in the books. For instance, that part you mentioned in which Draco didn’t seem to even acknowledge Lucius was only in the movies (DH Part 2, to be exact); the book version has Narcissa and Lucius both frantically running through the war zone, too busy trying to find Draco to even bother trying to fight, followed by a brief cameo of the whole family huddled together in the Great Hall. Nowhere in the books does Draco ever pointedly ignore his father or otherwise show any sort of negative attitude toward him.
@hannahmarshall91504 жыл бұрын
Madame Requiem, I haven’t finished the books yet, but I really do feel sorry for Lucius, it was like his whole life was already chosen for him. I do feel for him, and I get so much hate from people because of me liking him and everyone keeps telling that he calls Hermione a Mudblood, but in actual fact he never calls Hermione a Mudblood in the films but I am not to sure about the books as I have not finished them.

In my opinion, Lucius is the most pathetic character in all of the HP universe. Yes even more so than Petigrew. Petigrew at least did what he did for a reason, a selfish and evil reason, but still, a reason that made sense for his own benefit, and he manage to outsmart everyone for years. Lucius on the other hand had no reason to join Voldemort besides hate for muggles and the mixed blood wizards, he had nothing to gain and everything to lose by becoming a death eater. His hate blinded him so much that he wasn't even able to be selfish right, so he made an stupid decision that created more problems than benefits for himself and his family. To top it all off, he wasn't even good at being a death eater. He cost Voldemort one of his horrocruxes, and wasn't able to make Draco a useful follower of Voldemort (which is a good thing in the grand scheme of things but proves that Lucius sucked at being a death eater). Honestly, he's lucky he was born into magic, money, status and looks, because otherwise he would had nothing going on. He never had to work for anything in his life which explains why he was so useless at everything, he was useless for both Dumbledore's side, and useless for Voldemort's side. Petigrew, Barty Crouch Jr., Bellatrix, even freaking Snape and Regulus that both betrayed Voldemort were all more useful for him than Lucius was. Lucius is the definition of "make stupid bets, win stupid prices". Now in the present time Lucius lives with the tail between his legs not having such a terrible fate thanks to the kindest given by the people he hated so much.
