The first warm weather of spring arrived so we were heading up to the Lake District to do two more wainwrights. This time it was Harter Fell and Green Crag. There are actually two Harter Fells but this is the on in the Western Fells near Eskdale.
The walk started off from the pretty little valley of Birks Bridge. From there it was a nice walk up through Dunnerdale Forest onto the tops. Harter Crag has some stunning views out over the Western Fells and the light winds made from near perfect conditions.
After our first Wainwright it was time to head over to Green Crag. This is where you encounter the 'Bog Of Doom'. We managed to skirt the edges but still ended up having to go through it on the way down.
Overall this was a really nice hike. Some stunning woodland scenery in a nice quiet part of the Lake District we very rarely visit.
