Have a wolf/dog hybrid. Its not as awful as people make it seem and you don't really need to be any more of a "experienced trainer" then you would with any big dog. They actually learn faster then most dogs as wolves are more intelligent, but they are trouble makers. If you leave them by themselves they WILL get into something. They might go and knock the garbage cans over and eat what is inside. They might even eat pillows or couches. If you get a hybrid just realize that they are PACK animals. They want to sleep with you, eat with you and pretty much be by you as much as they can. As soon as you stop doing things with them they will act up. So if you're not comfortable with having your dog in your bed and spending your time right next to your dog then stay away from a hybrid. They aren't any more aggressive or dangerous then any other big dog. So yes you do have a responsibility to make sure you're dog is not going to hurt anyone as any big dog is fully capable of doing some serious damage to people especially kids.

Maaaan, do I ever miss being attacked. We had this thing where I would put on these thick leather work gloves. She got this look on her face, not a smile, kind of an angry anticipation. She knew not to bite hard on my skin, a very careful gentle animal. But when the gloves went on, YIPES. It was attack time. Which usually lent itself to Jeans attacks at the loose ankle fabric as well. I have been pulled over, tripped, assaulted, and pounced on and never once bitten, not ever. Though my ears have been enthusiastically nibbled to the point of being 'close' to a nip, but that only in mistake. I miss her so.

I've been scrolling through comments trying to find an answer, but when it comes to play fighting with an animal, do you have to train them as to how hard they can bite when playing with you or is it just something they develop naturally (like those videos of the dogs holding the eggs in their mouths without breaking them)
@inventgineer3 жыл бұрын
@@chilley2603 From my experience playfighting with a couple various male cats (and cats have a little harder time, I feel, bringing their fight-win-kill instinct back on down beyond a certain point): it's a combination of the following: 1 ) the individual animal's personality: some will want to play rough others won't, some will be better about keeping any playfighting NOT personal (the "fight" ends, the hard feelings end) some will get unintentionally petty after what started as a playfight, some will have better self-control during a playfight some will have worse. 2) Your bond with the animal, and how much it respects you. If the animal doesn't like you, or likely even if it likes you but doesn't have much respect for you (say because the relationship ism't a healthy give and take of expectations, where, say, the owner spoils the animal)....the animal is gonna be far less likely to WANT to have that very personal aggressive interaction in the first place (in part because it involves mutual respect and trust) or to listen to your desires mid-fight. Your relationship, generally, with the animal will largely determine how it responds to subtleties in a playfight (such as expressing more or less pain from a bite/scratch/etc they just did) 3) Training. Just spending time increasingly playfighting with the animal (IF they meet the above 2 conditions: they have the right temperament as an individual, and your relationship with them is healthy such that they respect you), and increasingly giving THEM feedback about what is too rough, and how much so, and listening, in turn, to THEIR feedback, and figuring out from experience just how far each of you generally likes or is willing (in a moment of adrenaline) to take it, what effective cues are, etc. My best suggestiom is just: make sure your relationship with the animal is ALREADY one where they quickly listen to what you ask, and then just start in: just practice slowly escalating play, seeing how enthusiastic your animal buddy is, personally, about rough play, and then just keep pushing it as far as you want it to go, only continuing to maintain/increase the roughness of play so long as the animal is still demonstrating that if you express any pain it still has both the self-control and the personal desire to stop. Hope that helps, mate! 😊👍

@TheSuperRatt2 жыл бұрын
It's a double edged sword. I do appreciate that videos like this show people that wolves aren't monsters, but it does increase the amount of people who want one. Most people don't have the necessary knowledge, or time and patience to rear one responsibly, nor the space. It also further necessitates the breeding of wolfdogs to fill demand, which sometimes results in the exploitation of wolves for vanity and profit.
@AshysWolfie192 жыл бұрын
@@TheSuperRatt Oh I agree with you 💯 As much as I love wolves/wolf dogs. I would never want to own one, And it's just sad how people only want them, as you said, for vanity or clout. Obviously the man in the video has a great deal of love and respect for Kane, and went through the proper steps into knowing how to care for him. Thank you so much for all the truth words. These animals, either wolves, dogs or wolvedogs only need love, respect and a little bit of dicipline ( not aggression) but most humans don't know the difference. If the environment is stable the behavior is stable. All as nature figured it out for the last (don't know) 50.000 years or so. And my personel opinion: Harvey and Kane are snuggle bugs. Humans are the problem in 99% of all accidents, cause they are instable.
