Harvest Moon DS Cute - Reaching the Bottom of the 4th Mine

Күн бұрынOkay. I FINALLY beat the 4th mine! 65,535 levels!!! It took me about 4 hours, 2 days, and 4 seperate times to play it. When I got out of the mines, it was only 10:30am. I thought time moves very slowly in the mines, and time moves depending how far down you are at. I guess I was wrong. It's how long you are in the mines, not the levels. I guess I learned something today. XD
I was so determined to beat it. I must beat it, because there is one random event that requires you to beat it, and that I must complete my game. I'm a completionist, FYI.
Gosh, I was kind of zoned out when I was near the end. I didn't even know I was almost there. Each level looks the same as the next. When I reached the end, I was completely shocked, and had to reload to record it. lol I wanted to record 1000 levels before the end, but I was, you know, zoned out. :P
How did I do it? Well, check my Tips video. I used some of those tips to beat the mine. And I was using an emulator, so my game was 2x as fast as normal.
Look at all the food I had. I didn't even need most of them. XD All I actually ate were:
-198 white grass
-20 black grass
-23 purple grass
All I actually used were:
-large Kappa Hat
-Truth Bangle
-Legendary Sword
-mythic hammer
Yeah... If you still need help beating any of the mines, check the Ushi site. I mean it. If you need help still after looking over the site, then ask me.

I don't think I will even go back down the 4th mine ever again! XD Only for the Wonderful Stones, though.
P.S. The HG said "imagened" instead of "imagined". XD And... DIE THOMAS, DIE!!! XD Don't you think it's creepy how Thomas is at the bottom of the 4th mine doing business? D: He's definitely the Harvest King. No doubt about it.

I hate how Guts and the Harvest Goddess have to rub it in your face that you don't get anything. "Hey! You made it to the bottom of this mine!" Character: "Oh good, that's what I was trying to do!" "Yeah, well, you don't get anything special for it." Character: "I know... I just kind of wanted to get to the bottom..." "You still get nothing!"

Harvest Moon DS Cute is a lot harder to play since they fixed all the glitches so you cant cheat...like that cheat where you assign the fishing harvest sprites to the beach during winter and then the next day you have maximum gold. It only works in Harvest Moon DS.

That's why I prefer the Cute version, all bugs are not working, so it's better :p But I found a glitch to get the 9th channel quickly :D

The glitch definitely gets you a lot of money in Harvest Moon DS but I tried it and my game froze after I did the glitch so I wasn’t able to load the diary and I had to start completely over :(

thomas in ds cute is definitely creepy. he would appear out of nowhere when you harvest giant crops or when you pass out in the excavation cave. so different from the character im MFoMT

Saving and reloading. Very useful when going into the mines and changing the weather. Save, and if something bad happens, you can reload.

I've officially done the 4th mine. That was so hard! I had to: Dig around for a way down Ditch the Wonderful stones Finish off every single last evil animal Smash every single rock, just to uncover a way down Own Thomas...hehe OK, the last one was a little joke. :P And it took me all morning and over half of the afternoon - it was 3.30 - 4.30pm by the time I left. But I chose a good day to go - New Year's Eve.

@iluvozzy2006 Most of my money is from shipping leveled-up crops. They take a lot of time to level-up one level at a time. I used CamStudio to record it at the time. I saved up coloured grass over the years in the game. The clearer the fields are, the more places for items to pop up on the ground the next day. Always clear the fields.

The Legendary Sword is at the bottom of the 2nd mine. In HMDS, you must have at least one tool at 400% (mystrile) to be able to pick up the sword. In HMDS Cute, you must have ALL tools at 400% (mystrile).

The fourth mine... umm, no thanks, I'll wait till I beat everything else in that game. (that means I'm not gonna do it). Seriously though,if you have the green hat, you won't have to worry too much about energy, as long as you eat SOMETHING before you drop down a hole, you won't lose any fatigue.

@silverwolf317 At the bottom of the second mine is the Legendary Sword. Defeat all the enemies on that floor, and you can have access to it. BUT, to be able to pick it up, you need to have all your tools at 400% (mystrile) in HMDS Cute. Or if you have HMDS, you just need one to be at 400% (mystrile).

XD Just reading this makes me want to play MY Cute file now. lol Of course, you knew. :D I know! They take a long time to kill. With the legendary sword still takes a while, but definitely quicker to kill them with. I love the sword. Wide range and stronger attack. :D

Keira is garbage. You have to go to the mine a lot. - See her and obtain the sword, *but do not forget to possess a Mithril tool* or else you will regret it. - Read her request. - Give her what she demands. - Repeat the last two things three more times. So, you have to go through this hell nearly a dozen more times. If you are a hardcore gamer and do this without relying on the game's very convenient file feature (perhaps being the only Harvest Moon to have such an option due to Keira), then you will become one of the best gamers to live. And yes, every hyphen up there represented a new visit to her floor. She actually makes you leave after reading her request, even if it's exactly what she wanted. Only during the semi-final heart event does she give you a player-specific item. This goal was designed with making Keira the most rewarding bachelorette to swoon. It feels especially satisfying in the female version, though you need a Japanese original to actually marry her. Not having any way to obtain gold faster makes her quite hard to marry. Yeah, you read that right. Don't forget you need a hundred thousand gold to give her the final gift. Unlike other Harvest Moon titles, you don't marry this one early, but rather near the end of the game after you've done just about everything to garner such a fortune. And to top it off, there's no decent way to get to her early unless you pluck a few dozen Yellow Grass for the journey. And even then, you are relying on the file feature or else you better have amazing movement skills.

@CatMuto For the cursed accessories, it doesn't matter if you have bought the first 3 levels (I think, since I don't have the medium size Goddess and Kappa earrings, and have the large ones). But to get the 2nd and 3rd levels, you need to buy them in order (1st, 2nd, 3rd).

Well, you get the feeling of completing all the mines. If you have the Japanese version, you can see a random event. And that's pretty much it...

You must call Gotz to upgrade your house. For the first upgrade, you must have bought the table from the shopping network (channel 2). For the second, you just need the first upgrade. But in the Japanese version, you must have a kitchen. Husband? Check the site for more advice. There's lots to know about courting. If you upgraded your hammer, you must HOLD down the Y button to charge up your tool. Then let go. Sometimes you have to hit it more than once.

True. Claire and Skye look better together than with Jill and Skye. Oh, I so want to beat the game. It's taken forever. lol Each in-game day takes so long to complete for me, since I try to live each day to the fullest. I'm really happy with my file. I got the family I wanted. Marlin, and a cute daughter named Nora. :D

To open the mines, it must be when Carter and Flora are NOT in the mines. 9am-12pm are when they are in the mines. Go early in the day, or late at night. You don't have to have your hammer with you. Or maybe that's only for DS Cute. Maybe bring it, just in case. The red box (top one), holds tools and seeds. The green box (middle one), holds items (ex. crops, milk, ore, flowers, weeds), and the blue box (bottom one), holds accessories (like the teleport stone or the Time Ring).

Tricks I use. Like I eat a piece of white grass, then fall. So I will only lose the little stamina I have and won't gain any fatigue, and will never faint.

@Slimjimmybob Yeah, the game really is hard. Good for completionists, though. However, I find making money is easy if you just level up your crops. Though, I do think the sprites have ridiculous requirements. The mines are evil, too, but I have ways to beat them without too much trouble.

havnt played ds cute but all u need to do is save before falling down holes and keep reloading til u get the hole todrop you far (2nd mine will be 10 max) as this saves u much stamina as u dont have to mess with monsters all the time. to save stam from falling (as falling in mine3 can drop u 100floors) when your at 0 stam eat just one grass to get back 5-10 stam before you drop. regardless of the fall you lose only that stam and your fatigue is untouched. bring like 60black grass and ull be fine

@AngelFluff48 That's the large version of the Kappa Hat. It's find in the 3rd mine in certain floors on the ground. The version you will find is the cursed one, so you need to ask Pastor Carter to bless it for you for 100,000G to turn it into the large Kappa Hat. @XxMoonPrincessxX13 Legendary Sword found on the bottom of the 2nd mine. And you can only get it if you have one of your tools at mystrile (HMDS) or all your tools at mystrile (HMDS Cute). Mystrile is 400%.

@xTerrierx The small and medium Kappa Hats are bought from Van when he comes to the valley on days ending in 3 or 8 (eg. Spring 3, Summer 18, Winter 23). His shop is located on the second floor of the Inner Inn where Ruby works. He opens between 10am-6pm. After buying the small Kappa Hat, a week later, he will sell the medium. The large is only found in the 3rd mine in cursed form. More about the mines in the link in the video description.

It depends how big the hats are. I really love the large Kappa Hat and the medium Goddess Hat. Large Kappa Hat = you will not gain any fatigue Medium Goddess Hat = you will not lose any stamina if you don't charge it (great for mining) Yes, there is a difference in the colours. Red is the small size. Blue is the medium size. Green is the large size. Grey is the cursed large size. Good luck on beating the 3rd mine. :D

Exactly, it was the worst prize ever for beating the hardest mine in the game! And he sold overpriced things, as well! D: And the third mine has 999 floors. You can fall up to 100 floors at a time.

Well, you can't dig up anything in that room, since all the soil are tilled. And yeah, it was really repetitive... I kept at it, though.

It really does take a lot of patience. Have you try falling into holes to go down faster? Remember to use the save and reload trick. And bring food.

What do you mean? You can't unlock the other ones if you don't have the first one unlocked. To unlock the first mine, you must have introduced yourself to Carter first. Then go in the mines when no one is in there. Early in the morning or late at night. Then there will be a little cutscene.

Most of my money comes from leveling up crops, especially yams. And yes, the mines are time consuming, but they are worth it.

You get to the bottom by going down holes and/or stairs. The small and medium hats are bought from Van. The large ones are found in the 3rd mine, but they are cursed.

OK, I'm currently working my way through the 4th mine....again, because my original file got erased. Hoo boy, the satisfaction I got after beating it first time was so good. Second time, hopefully so too. I'm like 20k floors in now,

I bought more food than I needed. XD Really, the medicines are in the fridge collecting dusts. I shouldn't have bought them. lol Did you reload from your last save? You should always save when going through the mines. The save and reload trick works wonders. :D

@MyGermanshepards Mystrile comes before mythic. Mythic is the highest upgrade, after blessed. Mystrile is the fourth upgrade and your tools must be at 400% to be able to upgrade them to mystrile.

I've made it to the bottom level as well and when i saved it at the mayor, i saved, turned DS off and reloaded and suddenly i saw Keria sleeping in front if the mayor, can't remember what she said tho..was about 6 months ago

Which hat would be more useful. The Goddess hat or the Kappa Hat. Well both of them are but which one is "better" then the other. And is there a difference with the Colors. Like Red, blue, green, Gray. What do they mean? My goal is to get passed the 3rd mine :D

Remember to use the save and reload trick, if you do faint. Well, Thomas will sell things on every X hundredth level, plus the bottom of the 4th mine.

@Tranquilbutterfly28 First you must find all 6 cursed tools, bless all of them, and then the mythic tools will be obtainable once you've done all of those. You'll have to smash the rocks to look for them, not dig BTW. Oh and the floor numbers you mentioned are correct, you just need to follow the requirements.

I suggest bring food with you, and watch your stamina and fatigue. Also use the save and reload trick. :3 Oh, I wish I can do it for you. :D Too bad I can't.

What's a waste? I feel really happy that I finally beat it. It's a big accomplishment, and it's good to know I have "mastered" the mines. XD My friend said it took 10 hours for her to beat it, and now I took 4 hours.

You can only gain fatigue, not lose it. You lose stamina, and gain fatigue. The red (small) Kappa Hat helps you gain fatigue slower.

That's strange. The maker shed should be available again after you demolish it. Oh, probably because you don't have the requirements for it. "The Maker barn will be available from Gotz only after you have upgraded your house for the first time and you own at least 1 poultry barn and 1 livestock barn. "

I might try to conquer the 4th mine.... done the first 3... 1st mine: Done it in a few minutes. Piece of pie. 2nd mine: Done it in about....half an hour. Not that easy....but not so hard... 3rd mine: Took me FOREVER! A few days. Very hard.

I still cant unlock the 4th mine in the original ds one. It drives me crazy becsuse i reached the bottom of the mine 3. Defeated all animals. Met the princesses on level 255 and have the sword and all tools are the one below blessed. I have the blessed hammer hoe and watering can so far. I go to the mine early and late but no cut scene. Already married. However my friendship in these games are lacking. Idk if that counts

From the beginning of the video, I was on Winter 21, Year 7, if you pause the video. I try to have extra save files just in case one gets corrupted.
