Hi Jacob Seeing you Riding on the rear hood of the combine reminded me of a story . About 10 years ago I was cutting wheat with our NH 8070 with the straw chopper going when I heard a Bang followed by a severe vibration . Stopped walked round the combine found 2 straw chopper blades missing !! On closer inspection I found 2 perfect Six inch slits in the top of the Hood where the blades had gone skyward ON THE EXACT SPOT YOU WERE SITTING .
@boehmfarm42765 жыл бұрын
At least you didn't have one cut through the engine. Dad hates the straw chopper and would rather have the spinner contraption, but those are less common on the new hollands.

I hope I don’t seem like the acme of foolishness for asking, you may have already made a video about this. What are you plans for the future? You and brother seem committed to farming. So would you like to become one of the big land owners are or stay where y’all are at now? And what do you see for farming in Ohio? Is it getting tougher? Are subdivisions talking up all the good land? I often wanted to ask OLF this question if his kids are going to keep it going in NJ. I’m afraid developers will squeeze them out. He’s got so many questions to answer he probably wouldn’t get a chance to address mine. Y’all have a good one and have a happy new year.
@boehmfarm42765 жыл бұрын
Brad is a friend from college. I'm in a holding period on buying land. I'm hoping low grain prices will correct land values. I figure If I ever get to farming 500 acres, that would be a satisfactory number. Farming thousands of acres would be cool, but doesn't mean that it would happen well. I have a fantastic thing going with eggs; I'd like to more than double production and have 500 hens. It'll be hard to be a big land owner close to home. We have no small farm neighbors. I'd have to win the lottery to forcefully buy at high cost adjacent land. Dad lost rented ground in the 90s to houses,but not to many subdivisions creeping in on us. Sometimes 10 acre wannabe horse farm lots are chunked out, and I gain a hay field. The hard part of Ohio is the wet weather.
