At first, when it was just deer, I thought it could have been Chronic Wasting Disease. Then it was a lot of different animals and the strange creature in the sketchbook, so im not sure what caused it.

A (not so) fun fact I want to add on to this reply chain- chronic wasting disease is a prion disease that can affect deer, elk, moose, any sort of deer-type things. The issue is... prions can occur in ANY kind of living being. A prion is a protein that's folded in the wrong way, which causes cell death. Since every living thing has proteins, every living thing CAN have prions. Mad cow disease? Prions! Scrapie? Prions! There are all sorts of recorded prion diseases, all with nigh-100% (if not fully 100%) fatality rates. This includes humans. HUMANS can get diseases by the same things that cause mad cow disease, scrapie, and chronic wasting disease, with the same chances of survival (or, rather, distinct lack thereof). Proteins can misfold into prions through genetic mutations, or through exposure to other prions. There's also been a small amount of research done that suggest plants can be a vector for prions, and that there may very well be a gradually increasing number of prions in our environment. I cannot imagine finding a pile of dead animals and not immediately exiting the area and calling someone. That is absolutely insane to me, not only is it not his job but dude, even if it isnt paranormal, that is some crazy pile up of a disease that will be very bad if it continues to spread

Or maybe whatever was affecting the animals was starting to affect him too. The animals James found alive are a bit away from the location but are called closer to it the closer they are to dying. I really don't think the rabbit and bird were trying to run away from him, it was just their time, or maybe they were even luring him

Ugh, I HATE spooky deer stories, imagining the swinging gives me the shivers. Nothing scared me more- the bird, the reveal… I remember that one 4chan post about a deer that bashed its head open on a rock and ate its brains or something. Spooked me then, too

Nate! Great to see you pal! I’m just finishing up the story of my arg. I can’t wait to post it! Unfortunately, due to technical limitations, setbacks, and lack of proper supplies/tools, it’ll probably take a few years to make the full scale creature props, and edit the sounds to go with it. I plan to upload it to Reddit, and create a story thread in the style of Weird Birds. But know I will eventually get around to it, and when I do, maybe, just MAYBE it’ll be a hit. As always, your content is awesome and peak KZfaq performance. Also, I’m off next week for the start of spring. And I know exactly what I’ll be doing: binge watching all your uploads! Like I’ve said before, I find solace and fascination with the creepy, unknown, and mysterious things of our world, so it’ll be a good time for me. It's either a brain eating parasite, rabies, disease, has brain damage from injury, bugs in its ears, or something that's not actually a deer pretending to be a deer. The deer was probably just very sick.
