Thank you for this great explanation , I have a very similar PSU to the one you repaired that had the same resistor blown , I repaired it before watching your video BUT you gave me great insight for things to look for in faulty PSU units.

Assalamu alaikum, Dear Sir, I am very much thankful for your detailed teaching about the laptop charger repair. Last month I was listened your SMPS repair program. Everything was very informative. Even though I am a commerce graduate, I am interested in these electronic classes. I repaired very many things at my home, my own things, but the result was failure. I am not responsible to anyone for the loss, except me. After hearing your valuable and detailed classes, I have a confidence to repair very small electronic things. Very much thanks.. Expecting more classes, and will go through your previous posts. subscribed for more. Mohammed Basheer

That startup vcc resistor is one of the first things to check in a dormant switching supply. Some resistors don't do well with a high voltage or large pulses across it. No overload, just quietly drift open.

Sir i've been come across some of smps recently and was greatly frustrated to find that the control chip or pwm ic was damaged due to heavy short circuit. Please do some videos on how a pwm gets damaged . what are the good design practices to prevent such kind of issues. Because once the pwm gets damaged it becomes very tough to find a new one in the market and we've to leav the whole power supply.

nice job! i can understand now how to repair my macbook power supply. there is a certain hierarchy in electronics. capacitors and resistors have to support the operation of the IC and transistors. so the power supply really looks like a mix and match of many vendors products integrated to look like a single solution by the designer/oem.

Really nice work, i liked the idea of measuring voltage on Mosfet which is higher than that across capacitor which indicates that switching is available and also indicated that primary of the transformer is good without shooting inside it, actually i diagnosed a bad secondary transformer (partially shorted) also it can happen in primary, thanks a lot to you , I really increased my experience from your videos, god bless you, barak allah feek, like and subscribe

Good afternoon engineer, thanks for your easy to learn explanation on adapter problems, please help me out with this problem. I was trying to fix a DELL laptop charger with power ratings: input voltage= 240 ac, output voltage =19.5v DC, 90W, i cannot recall the current rating as at this time of writing, the problem was that the capacitor and the bridge rectifier got bad and i replace them, now it is outputting 19.5v but CANNOT charge the laptop battery nor show the charging light bar any more, please help me out so that i can fix it
