In Battletech lore, we already invented usable, compact fusion reactors by year 2020. We just barely made fusion efficient enough to generate more output energy than we put in at the tail-end of 2022. We’re a little late to the party but if we can develop synthetic muscle on-par with Myomer, give it a decade or two and we’ll have some early-development battlemechs. I wanna be the first to pilot a Marauder, personally.
