Genetically speaking. Punjabies of both sides are influenced by Central Asians and Iranians, however the major movement of people was some 3000-5000 years ago when the South Asia had a much smaller population, so the Iranian/Central Asians mixed with the locals at the time. So technically speaking Modern Pakistanis and North West Indians are around 50/50 I would say on average between being Indian and Iranian/South Asian, however culturally of course they are South Asian/Indian. In Pakistan, Pashtuns, and northern Tribes like Kalash.Chitralies/Gilgitlies are the least Indian, they are clearly Central Asian genetically and culturally too. This is why for example on the Pakistani team the Pashtun players clearly dont look Indian

In Pak Baloch nd Pashtun they know there true DNA thts why they r cool u ll never found them talking silly like lahorias. Pashtuns in Pak r origionaly Afghans cos once they were our part but seperated due to Afghanistans own mistakes tht were taken by Zahir Shah. Baloch r half Persians nd Half Afghans. Koi thori bohaut Central Asian DNA ki percentage aa gai ho gi 2 ya 3% iss ke DNA mein. Baaki sab ka South Asian hi hota hai. I got my DNA test from myheritage and I am 100% South Asian. Albata features to South Asian Indian hein Hassan Nisar ke which shows South Asian DNA dominant hai.

I know there are an increasing number of commentators including yourself highlighting Pakistan's identity crisis as it seeks to disown it's Indian ancestry and instead hankers after Arab or Turkic or Persian ancestry. But what is this Indian ancestry? Quite often times now though, I think we are being unfair to the Pakistanis. For this ailment of a ruling establishment to disown their ancestry is actually true in India too. Secular India led by the Congress and Westernized Hindus too is all about erasing and downplaying the Hindu heritage in India. They call this as secularism. So if both India and Pakistan suffer from a somewhat similar ailment, what is the common thread? The common thread is that they are both outcomes of the decline of India's native civilization which meant many belonging to that civilization chose to embrace other cultures be it Islam by those Hindus who converted to Muslims or the European-Christian- Liberal - Marxist by the Western educated Hindu. If decline were all that was the story, then the tale would have been different. But what also seems to have happened is that after the decline of India's native civilization never was complete and could never be fully erased. It has not yet fully recovered, but If India's native civilization recovers, those who converted out of it during its period of decline would no longer have the justification for their respective conversions. Hence what we see both in India and Pakistan is that the elites in the respective domains - the Muslim elite amongst the Muslims and the secular elite amongst the Hindus are both obsessed with denying India's native civilization a place of respectability. Yes, including the Hindu secular elite. Which is why blasphemy mobs receive the full support of secularists in India. As do intransigent assertion of religiosity as long as it is not Hindu. So sometimes it beats me why we are able to see the disowning of ancestry by Pakistan but fail to see the same amongst the Hindus seculars. The Hindu seculars have oftentimes described the BJP and Hindutva as the Hindu Pakistan. But really it is the Congress led secular India which is actually the secular Pakistan.

Ive seen Pakistani's from the north that look very different from what the average South Asian look like. There are alot of Indians who can trace their ancestry to Iran, Central Asia, Armenia and more. Lately Ive seen Bangladeshi's and Sri Lankan Muslims claim they are Arab and have Arabized the way they speak which I find hilarious. South Asian Muslims have always had their own culture just like Christians in South Asia, I cant imagine an Indian Catholic from South India saying they are Italian or claim Roman ancestry because that doesn't happen. Pakistan is fucked in so many ways which is sad because here in New York every Pakistani Ive met has been warm and welcoming.
