I loved this transformation and I bet you guys will do so as well!
I took a cheap hammer and turned into a blacksmithing hammer...
And this time without a powerhammer!

Unglaublich was du aus dem ursprünglichen Hammer gemacht hast. Das die Oberfläche so glänzend werden kann🤩, hätte ich nicht für möglich gehalten. Ist jetzt fast zu schade um damit auf irgendwas drauf zu hauen. Eine sehr schöne Arbeit und ein echt interessantes Video. Hast du gut gemacht 👍🏼. Liebe Grüße 🎈

nice work using the drawknife to shape the handle. Most people would use the bandsaw to cut the corners down and then grind and sand it to final shape.

Those troughs should be closer to the eye. The edges of the two faces would be wider and less likely to chip.

The shape, first piece had flat surface, the second one has rounded end... That helps for better control and its more accurate... I think so

@@tomaskara902 round end helps with spreading the hot metal. Leaves the surface rough, so the flat side. The horn of an anvil is used the same way. Look at blacksmith hammers, there are straight peen, cross peen, ball peen... one spreads left and right of hammer head, one toward and away, and ball or round end kinda both ways. I'd like to know about the swaging in part. I see this often, but unclear if it has purpose other than it looks nice (which is a valid reason)

You increase the striking surface without increasing the overall weight of your hammer. If you are going to swing it for a long time, you want some weight savings. Your arm will thank you.

Good entertaining video! The hammer Looks quite nice but it´s still a way to go for an ergonomic and good blacksmith hammer. The balance looks not optimal and as far as I know Blacksmiths would not harden the eye part.
