Hey everyone! I am super excited to share this photoshoot with you all, today I am using the Hasselblad X2D 100C with the new XCD 90V f2.5 lens and testing out the brand new Face AF feature! Megan, Dan and I travelled to Dorrigo in Australia to make this photoshoot happen. We had a rocky (lol) time with the weather, but I think that just added to the magic of the photos in this location!
The images in this video are sponsored by Hasselblad and samples can be viewed on their website. I created campaign images for the 90V during this photoshoot however all thoughts and opinions are still my own.
Let me know what you think of the lens and the photos in the comments and thank you so much for watching!!

For my personal taste, the eyes are too dark. i would at least use a reflektor or use a flash to lighten up the eyes. The Hasselblad with its leaf shutter is the perfekt tool to do so.

@JuliaTrotti Wow! What a beautiful place to shoot, and with two awesome models (one human, one not). I love the amazing detail that you get with that camera. How do you feel about shooting at 100 megapixels? If you had that resolution and the performance of something like an A1, would you want to shoot at that resolution, or would you prefer something closer to 50 MP?

Curious about the depth of field on the medium format… if the full frame focal length equivalent is 71mm does that crop factor apply to the aperture? Like medium format 90mm f2.5 would have the same depth of field as ff 70mm f2 roughly?

That camera looks so small! :O I have a GFX 50S II and this Hasselblad looks much smaller! Looks really good too. Nice photos! Have you ever tried the Mitakon 65mm 1.4 on a medium format camera? I got it for the GFX and it’s very good, especially when you take into account that it’s under $600. It’s fully manual but it’s not hard to focus imo. (Just zoom in instead of using focus peaking.)
@davetv8171
@davetv8171 6 ай бұрын
The thing is, it has a small enough footprint but a stout grip. I would say it’s slightly bigger than the gfx 100S. With these new xcd lenses with the orange markings, the camera does seem small in comparison and that’s a good thing.
@juliatrotti
@juliatrotti 5 ай бұрын
Thanks! The ergonomics on this camera are really nice. Yes, I have used that Mitakon for portraits on the GFX100 before and wow it's a stunning lens!! I have the photos/bts up here on KZfaq somewhere but it was in a compilation video that had a few other photoshoots in it too and now I can't remember which one it is. I will try to find the photos and upload them on my blog later in the week if you wanted to keep an eye out for that there :)

It was sponsored. It was fabricated to tell you something that is not true, or half true..... whatever... there is no single bad word about this lens. The lens is created to make you thing that you are enjoying a bubble bath... At 0:08 it looks as if lens was sprayed wet. It looks too uniform. To emphesise to be in heavy rain? In all my years I have never come across a lens that is exposed to so much water. Never ever... It always was covered with something.

Hi Julia! I know you were using beta firmware, but given that it's "only" got Face AF, as opposed to Eye AF, how did you feel about the camera's ability/consistency in nailing the eye (as opposed to nose or eyelash)? I don't mind if it's slower than Sony/Canon/Nikon in terms of focusing speed, but I would like the confidence in knowing/not having to second guess and keep checking after every few shots whether it REALLY got the eye sharp or not.
