Just saw it. Excellent creature feature with a lot of care and fun and great practical effects. The Mom is one of the greatest villains I’ve seen in a long while. “Every good (terror child) has its mother.”

Don’t watch this trailer past the 0:50 second mark if you don’t want the entire plot spoiled!! I watched this trailer weeks ago and just finished the movie hoping for some big twists aside from the trailer and my hopes were crushed. The movie would have been great a experience if I never watched this trailer..

The best film in a while. If not ever. Deeply emotional metaphorical film about the way we raise children influences the way they are. Social commentary for the life behind a blog is also present. Truly impressive and shocking. But a true masterpiece.

I noticed this movie took from jeepers creepers movie as well when it eats the flesh of ah human it becomes apart of the bird and help it grow

I'm not sure if there really is a creature. From what I'm seeing what is really hatching is not a bird but a monster within-side this little girl. Too much expectations from the parents, especially the mother will probably send her off the deep end of sanity. We'll see.

The monster looks like it represent her eating disorder. You can see how the parents teach her disordered eating because she's a gymnast. The throwing up of food reminds of binge eating, but here the throw up is used to feed her "monster" inside like how bird chews up food to feed their babies. The skeletal figure of the "monster" and the family fearing the animosity and rage of a malnourished person is so familiar to people who've gone through it!

Controlling, overbearing parents can certainly Hatch resentment, anger and vengefulness in children... A brilliant horror, beautifully shot and superbly acted!

@@thegreatreaper8840I’ve seen you reply to a few comments saying how it’s just a monster movie, etc. The whole film works as that, but it’s very much a metaphor for mental health, the duelling sides of a person (in this case a teenager) etc.

Good coming of age Story. I really Likes the creature design and the choice not to use CGI all the time but rather craft puppets for the creature. I saw the movie at Fantasy Filmfest and really enjoyed it.

I just watched the movie and it really resonates deep, reminds us to be kind to ourselves and our kids, mental health is as much as important as physical health. It perfectly portrays how a child develop multiple personality disorder or how pressure affects a child. TLC i critical for a child growth and development if you really interpret it in the aspect of mental health concern.

Quite good, yes quite good! The young actress is wonderful, and the woman who plays the mother does a thoroughly convincing job of being a self-absorbed, miserable witch. A story about a kind soul dealing with the lesser forms of life....her mother.

It is really interesting I think it's an allegory to what the girl is going through with her mothers fascination over perfection. I think the "monster" is the girls personification of a mental disorder. Watch it people.

Spoilers: I love the contrast like how Tinja’s mother was all about appearance and perfection whereas Tinja cared for Ali unconditionally, regardless of all the flaws. Even sacrificing herself when her mother went to kill Ali. Now the superficial blonde has a cloned daughter as corrupted as herself.

Great Movie. The portrayal of a toxic exploitative mother, and the pressure she puts onto her child + the results of it are all accurate. I love when movies have the trope of everything realisitc, aside from one thing. The emotional portrayal was all so good aswell, The lighting, etc! And great CGI with the bird and all.

Awesome movie. I struggle to find new movies to watch, because I like original and more thought provoking films, especially when it comes to horror. This one definitely delivered. I can see it being an acquired taste, because it's not that much like a regular horror movie, but if you watch it from the perspective of social commentary and the symbolism of it, it's pretty damn awesome.

Looks something different! Some independent and foreign horror movies have been doing something different despite mainstream horror genre does at least an occasional different monster movie like Crawl or a hit franchise like Quiet Place (t least it's something completely different in mainstream horror genre that supported by audiences and a fresh new franchise). It's not another pointless remake of a classic like Poltergeist, another ghost movie, another found footage movie, or another prequel/sequel/reboot to a franchise that should just die already like Texas Chainsaw Massacre (good god another TCM movie coming next month? that franchise is dead, let it go). It's a fresh concept and also using practical effects is a plus

Esta película es una locura!!! te mantiene atrapado todo el tiempo. Y el final muy bueno. Más que recomendada. Si son sensibles con animales maltratados/ asesinados tengan en cuenta que es medio fuerte, es lo único que no me gustó. El resto está muy buena.

Just got done seeing this movie at a pre release. Interesting ideas but there are quite a few unanswered questions to be honest. Like there were 6 stories in one.
