My first (successful) egg hunt in Gen 3 - Shiny Omanyte for my Gen 3 Shiny Living Dex. Probably a strange target to some but as I explain in the video, having already reset for one in Cinnabar Island, I decided to egg hunt it using the box swap trick. I really enjoyed this hunt though I will admit to being disappointed slightly that it didn't hatch shiny in Hoenn as a non-native species.
This makes it 102/386 for my Gen 3 Shiny Living Dex.

This was a super fun method and I advise trying it. It's a lot faster than you'd think. I will be doing plenty of unique and interesting egg hunts in the future for sure.

This is such a cool way to hunt that I always forget exists! It's definitely something I need to try out sometime, hopefully sooner rather than later. Congrats on the Omanyte! Love seeing a video from you as always.

Oohhh congrats!! I kinda love this type of hunt to get the eggs to be shiny, it feels more like hunting for the shiny savefile than the shiny Pokemon. Did a few of these to get a shiny Paras in FR and one for a Gastly that I did a poison-only nuzlocke with, and it won me the league! Definitely a cool way of hunting. I got the Gastly at over 9K, but I don't remember how long Paras took.

Congrats on that beautiful shiny! I managed to get a shiny Litwik in White after over 12k encounters; it's by far one of my favorites in Gen 5. Now I'm hunting for Shiny Axew :)

Love ur videos man! I have a question about shiny hunting with an action replay, for example, if i got the AR card for my Gameboy SP and Sapphire & choosing Jirachy to be spawned in the grass, is it possible that it could appear as a shiny? Never had a cheat module so i wanted to ask you/you guys Thanks for the advice/answer

Is the shininess (shinyness?) Of the egg determined by your trainer ID, like for the manaphy hunt? If so, does that mean you have to start a new save everytime you transfer the batch of eggs?

Man its been a while. Still resetting for shiny Ho oh and still nothing... And I got Pokemon Legends Arceus for Christmas and have been a shiny catching beast. 🤣 even a double shiny Piloswine! Just checking every mass outbreak. And a total of 4 full odds random shinies along the way. 😁

Funny story bout that comment. I actually did get a first encounter shiny poiple in ultra sun, powered through the story so quick didn’t even really care bout the Pokémon wasn’t until the anime when I saw ashes poiple and went wait mines white.
