Hathersage Hurtle 2023 - Peak District Trail Running

This video sees me take on the Hathersage Hurtle race in the Peak District. The Hurtle is an event in the Hope Valley, covering 20 miles and 2,800 feet of ascent, a challenging course that you can run or walk. It takes in Abney Moor, the Thornhill Trail and climbs up to Stanage Edge before returning to Hathersage via Burbage Brook and Padley Gorge. I had a fantastic time and hope to return again next year.

That was great Dean! Superb route in lovely weather and very well filmed too! Got me in the mood for my next trek up to the Peaks in just under 3 weeks 👍I hope the injury continues to heal up. Is that another variation on the opening theme I am hearing? Sounds great, pretty epic in fact! Well done and looking forward to the next one!

Hi Greg, thanks for watching and I hope you have a great time in the Peaks soon. There was a few different versions of the theme in there this time, one from 2015 and one from 2022. I just keep changing it a little every now and then 😁

Haha 😂 I was out camping with the boys on Thursday last week. At the moment I feel like I would be just repeating myself with a camping video, I’ve gone as far as I feel like I can go in some locations so just take the opportunity to relax and enjoy the moment. Who knows, I’ll probably make one again soon no doubt. All the best

Great vid, & great to see many of my running routes. I saw this event when we drove through Hathersage yesterday - one for my list next year. Suggestion for events later in year - Amberaid (40m) or Petit Raid (20m), October. See you out on the trails!
