4 жыл бұрын

It's Truck and Trailer Tuesday! We had a great day haulin wood with the BWise Ultimate Dump Trailer. Wayne, a subscriber from our area, reached out to Tractor Time with Tim for help in hauling away multiple trees he had cut on his property. His neighbor, Dave, used his John Deere 4300 and bucket to load our trailer. Wayne shows us his Kubota B7100 HST from 1972!
Special Thanks to BWise Trailers - This big green trailer is THE ULTIMATE DUMP Trailer!

The first thing my buddy does when he gets a new truck or trailer is climb onto the bed with a sledge hammer and starts swinging and denting it. When I first saw him do it, I asked why. He replied "I bought it to WORK and now I'm not worried about it getting a dent or two". Smart man.

The first mower I learned on was a Kubota B7100 HST back in the early 90's. Mowed the farm yard's 5 acres for years, and on occasion powered a PTO auger. It was traded in on a BX2350 that my parents still have.

That old 430 JD and its old owner were nice to see. I like the old mechanically operated tractors best, electronically controlled features on a tractor not so much, I'm afraid of electrical components burning out and getting an expensive repair bill to replace them. Good video of the dump trailer too. Thanks for bringing us along on another enjoyable episode of TTWT.

Hey Tim. This is Matthew from down in the great state of Alabama. I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your channel. Me and my son both are huge John Deere fans. He’s five years old and also loves watching your videos. He has been sick lately and before we put him to bed last night he asked if he could watch a “Tractor Time With Tim” show before he went to bed and this is the episode we watched. He LOVES getting to see the tractors work and really likes your big green trailer too! One day we hope to join the Johnny family. I have a little D170 riding mower but he is always asking me when we’ll get to upgrade to a 1025R or something bigger lol. I love this little guy and love that we both enjoy watching your episodes together. Thank you for providing a clean, wholesome, child friendly program we can enjoy together. I also really appreciate your honest reviews on your products. Even though you love John Deere you don’t view things with “green glasses”. Thank you! Matthew

Have to add that I had a 1980 B7100hst with loader and agricultural tires and next had a 2008 Bx1850 with loader which was 28 years newer and 2hp larger and the plastic much much noisier tractor felt fair bit inferior and like it would break and meant for a yard compared to the older metal one that was a beast in the mountainous woods and mud log roads. Like comparing Troy built tillers to the older ones.

Almost a video of my stuff! My current is a JD 4310 HST with a 430 loader. Yeah, I noticed Dave's dump didn't seem to drop nearly as much as mine ( floor vertical). 1100 hours so far. R4 tires. But my first "real" tractor was a Kubota B5200 (14 hp) with a Kubota factory loader that I bought new. NOT HST, but had power steering. Damn, I worked that thing hard! Easy to fit right in a stall for mucking. When it was worn out I traded it in on a Woods finish mower.

a better change would be to make the center drop down instead of 2 sections. My old boss had a dump trailer built with the center able to drop without needing to remove the tarp arm. Essentially leaving a short full height side rail for 12" (approx) til the drop down side would be able to move.

Sounds like my B2410. Bought it in 2001, has about 500 hours on it. Great tractor. Nice workhorse. I compared the equal in JD at the time, price won out, they were so close to each other in features, but the JD had two things that make me wish I did go green. Split brakes on the left, not on the right and quick detach loader that didn't require getting off the tractor to set up the landing legs. I don't remember the model number of the JD, but I think what is in this video is pretty close to what I was comparing.

@@TractorTimewithTim Whining? Really? I never said any such thing.. We heat by wood. I wish we had someone local that cut down a lot of wood like that and would just drop it off.. More so being I am also a disabled Veteran on V/A income only and so the cost hurts as well as me not being able to cut or chop wood. My comment was intended to say that down there a person would be lucky like that to have the wood dropped off instead of having to pay for it or do all the work like them themselves all the time. So I am not sure how you got whining out of that, because that was not even close to what or how I said what I said.

Tractor Time with Tim, my apologies, perhaps I missed it in the video outside of observing no damage present. I unfortunately don’t own a dump trailer I just enjoy trying to think of little upgrades to equipment. If I did have one, I would share the same concern about damage. I like to keep my stuff nice. Probably depends on the user, but if some day I do get one, I could see using a strong adhesive to secure the mats to the floor. Moisture might be a problem though.

Tim, Just wondering running a loader at ldle like that, would that strain the engine. On a smaller series tractor? I don't have that much loader experience besides a skid steer. Besides a 1954 Massy Harris that had a loader and big heavy duty back blade my old boss had that was tough as nails! It was really used and abused when he got it but still worked good for us in the winter time. The tractors I use are bigger and old school gear driving and was taught when using PTO equipment to run full or 3/4 throttle minimum depending on use and attachment. Mainly finishing mowing, brush hog and rototilling. Non PTO attachments I usually run about half to 1/4 throttle.
@TractorTimewithTim
@TractorTimewithTim 4 жыл бұрын
PTO attachments should be ran at least 540 rpm...which is almost full throttle. Loader work, no worries...whatever one wants....at least on older tractors. Newer DPF enabled tractors would be better served to run at higher RPM.

Less than $100 and about an hour to pull the wires and neatly secure it to the frames to do truck and 1 to 2 trailers. Jameson Cross no kidding. I would have grabbed it even just for backyard camp fires

It will be mulch. More dead ash trees around here than folks can use.

How about a solar battery charger? That would be an interesting informative video.

More wood around here than folks can burn. Have you seen our episodes with Danny? He works with churches and individuals who need wood. However, with all the dead Ash trees around, there is a glut of firewood.

I miss your original trailer that had the stands to keep it from going down, wish I could find one like it, Google is not my friend finding it. I don't need brakes, or to haul over 3000 pounds so it would be perfect for me. What brand was it?
@TractorTimewithTim
@TractorTimewithTim 4 жыл бұрын
Wolverine. Aluminum. I don’t recommend that brand.

@@TractorTimewithTim why not? The 4 series 6x12 enclosed looks closer to what I'm after than anything from Aluma. I'll mainly be hauling manure and mulch, my baby Deere mower, and a 1025 to service. Not many dealers, looks like a car lot 175 miles from me is closest😒

Maybe they have changed, but mine was not engineered strongly enough to handle the load (even less than the rated GVW). Use your own judgement. They may be wonderful now!

@@TractorTimewithTim I emailed them the exact model I was interested in and asked for them to refer me to a dealer 3 days ago with no reply so I guess their customer service ranks about how you rated your trailer. I really wanted aluminum for the weight but I can have a local shop fab me one in steel.

@TractorTimewithTim

It isn’t the dump. They make mulch out of it.

4x8 sheet of 3/4 plywood with 2 holes cut on one end with a chain looped through the holes & the chain dropped over a hitch on my car moves ALL my wood exactly the size you are doing, I don't have to pick up ANY of the wood, just roll it over onto the flat plywood & drive off.

Also why get that big of trailer when you don’t have anything capable of loading over the high sides ?? Every video they are down. I get the occasional mulch run or protecting the equipment inside but those are fewer between than always putting sides down for everything else
