Thank you because I'm trying to learn the differences between different cultural/folk dances in Africa and this is certainly misleading. Some people don't care but for someone like me who is trying to learn (and celebrate) the differences, it is very frustrating.

Avy Ferguson Hausa dances and Fulani dances are quite different. Fulani people from Senegal to Sudan all dance the same way. With the men dancing with their "Sauru" (cow-herding sticks) and the women dancing with their Tumbuude "Calabash". The two cultures are quite different.

That is why I said 20 - 30 years ago, because Adamawa and Gombe spoke Fulfulde (Fulani language) as the main language 20 - 30 years ago. However, even today in Adamawa Cameroon which is a part of the large Adamawa Emirate which consists of both Nigeria and Cameroon, Fulfulde is the main tongue (Garoua, Maroua, Ngaoundere, etc.) all of it is Fulani speaking. Fulani and Hausa are WAY different too btw. Fulani of Adamawa Nigeria and Fulani of Adamawa Cameroon consider themselves the same

for the record Gombe, Adamawa and Taraba are not Fulani States, although the majority of people from these areas have adopted the Hausa language as a matter of convenience most still speak and have their own languages so arent necessarily Hausa/Fulani. South Gombe is full of Tangale , Adamawa & Taraba are significantly occupied by distinct tribes that can trace their ancestry back to the old Jukun Empire. In fact The N.E Region of Nigeria has the highest number of minority ethnic groups in NGR

Besides most often they live in the same places and use one language according to the majority hausa or fulani, and they marry from each other . @@gabrielo1929 no, Fulani have higher percentage in those countries, not a higher population. There is a huge mathematical difference.
