Mick Foley is a nice man, a family man who loves amusement parks and eating ice cream in bed. So how to explain those Japanese death matches in rings with explosives, golden thumbtacks and barbed wire instead of rope? The second-degree burn tissue? And the missing ear that was ripped off during a bout-in which he kept fighting? Here is an intimate glimpse into Mick Foley's mind, his history, his work and what some might call his pathology. Now with a bonus chapter summarizing the past 15 months-from his experience as a bestselling author through his parting thoughts before his final match. A tale of blood, sweat, tears and more blood-all in his own words-straight from the twisted genius behind Cactus Jack, Dude Love, and Mankind.

I first read this book during a very very dark time in my life, I was alone and an addict and a criminal and an all around piece of shit. Now that it's years later and I'm doing... well, slightly better, I'm off the dope and I'm working full time, lol; it's like comfort food for my heart. Especially hearing Mick's voice relaying it all.

Garrett Jeffers buying it off amazon is the same thing. UNLESS you get it direct from the actual legit publisher, then mick gets his cut. Or a legit bookstore that plays by the rules. Otherwise, you’re just buying it 2nd hand off someone and mick sees no $. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t do it or it’s wrong or something, I’m just responding to your original statement that you “felt guilty“ getting this for free and that mick deserves the money. That’s all. Buying it off of “some dude“ on the Internet is just giving money to “that dude“.

For all the people asking/commenting on whether this is the complete/edited book. It is and it isn't. It isn't the full book, but this is a full copy of the recording. This looks to be ripped from the Have a Nice Day audio CD collection which was 3 CDs, each running at just over an hour. They were an abridged recording of the book. So this is the full recording, just of an abridged text. Lots of anecdotes and stories are missing, including his earlier years, the Montreal Screwjob, and the build up to the I Quit match (the actual final chapter). If memory serves there was also an entire chapter or section devoted to Owen Hart. Plus loads of jabs at Rick Flair, Al Snow, and Bob Holly. It's a big shame that they never recorded the full version, as Mick is a great vocal storyteller. It's definitely worth picking up the print version of the book for all the stuff left out of the recording.

I'll never forget when IWA Wrestling came to Selkirk Manitoba. I wasn't fortunate enough to see Mick but the Ultimo Dragon was the champion at the time saw him actually have a match with Chris "The Lionheart" Jerhico. I think this was before his entrance to WCW as I was 12. So they kept setting up a move where Chris would hit Ultimo with a chair. He'd pull the empty seat next to me and they'd do the sequence and Jericho would reach for the chair and it wouldn't be there so they'd have to ad-lib and then do the set up again and once again I grabbed the chair and pulled it back. Snickering. Jericho sees this and gets mad and actually throws me off my chair - I didn't get hurt - and then used my chair to hit the Dragon in the head and then grabbed me and put me back in the seat he just used to hit the Dragon in the head and then said "Now F-ing stay there, dammit!" That was when I became a Jericho fan for life lol. Mick is a legend and one of my many favourites!

There's stuff from the book excluded, but this made for a MUCH better drive through boring Kentucky.
