I think that's about as accurate a story as we'll get with this game because he is specifically straightening out these rogue employees especially in terms of the major bosses death actually talks to they do still remain after getting their asses handed to them but act more appropriately so I'd bet your probably right about that he's straightening them out he also seemed to want to take a vacation based on the ending where a door opens to a pleasant beach and he gets himself ready to relax so he most likely is just whacking his employees upside the head on his way out to a vacation well deserved

Essentially, Death is the CEO of the company and he "hires" the whatever they're called to act as CFO and the like to free up worktime.

I think there’s a trailer that confirms that Death wants a vacation but he can’t because of the sorrows, that and some in-game lore says that the only way for a soul to pass on is for those little papers to be stamped and dispelled with an enchantment only Death knows, so yeah he NEEDS to slow down the sorrows if he wants to leave.

@@zipperfingers749 huh interesting so it's more of a "your doing your job to well and you need to tone it down a few notches" sort of situation I honestly didn't think of that if only he could teach that spell to his secretary or someone else in order to dump all those papers on someone else while he goes to take a break but given it's a spell to allow a soul to cross over to the afterlife theres probably requirements to be used or if in the wrong hands could be problematic I wonder if theres lore that explains that one way or another those reasons are probably why death needs to stamp them and exclusively him

This is early access, the game isn’t done yet. We still have at least two more worlds left. Also the different worlds (excluding the Hall of Eternity, but that’s the entrance to the afterlife) represent different causes of death. Example, industrial pollution represents toxic waste and nuclear hazards and addictions represents substance addictions such as drug addiction. And we haven’t even touched the common enemies, with plastirks (literal floating plastic grocery bags) in industrial pollution and smokers in addictions, and so many more. About 50+ more common enemies and counting.

Plague would be a pretty cool Thanager in either the physical illness or pollution department. But I can't exactly see it being the final boss.

According to the Pitbook entries, Brad is the Head of Security, Grimes is Head of Industrial Pollution, Krank is Head of Physical Disease, Maxxx is Head of Addictions, Pliskhan is Head of Modern Warfare, Waldo is Head of Toxic Food Processing, and Imamura is Head of Natural Disasters.

Slygma: radiation X4-H: stomach cancer Richard: pulmonar cancer (he is trapped in a tube, like the tubes that makes you breath artificially) Mr gordon: the representation of pollution Candice: diabetes Pierce: gluttony Waldo: intoxication of unhealty food Denzel: dengue Krank: cancer (a crab..) @@missing3434 IIirc, Brad's a gargoyle (you can see him temporarily turn to stone during his selfie attack and when he's defeated as well as use rocks in his projectile attacks); him being the head of security, representing a figure created to watch over their surroundings, would make sense. The Pitbook talks about how Pierce was a martial artist who wanted to set the record of the most burgers eaten within a certain time limit, dying because a toothpick from one of the burgers (his 22,477th) perforated his stomach; his death might indicate he symbolizes overeating/gluttony. Camille was a mechanic during WWI, found herself surrounded by enemy soldiers, and held her position for several days before she died of hunger and thirst, so she might represent starvation. Everything else sounds like it would fit well enough for each character.

I think it’s because Grimes is the personification of pollution, Hector is said to copy almost everything Grimes does (and he is the manifestation and creator of cancer), and Maxxx well… have you seen what that guy does in his boss fight? He probably melts away because he runs out of steam and has a crash like a college student that ran out of coffee.
