What I like about your videos is the perspective it gives you. It gives you an idea of how bloody hard it is to compete at the top level. In New Zealand we have struggled to realise top quality players for so many years now (with the exception of Cameron Norrie who now plays for the UK), and watching these videos illustrates the sacrifices and hard work you need to do, in order to be successful. Hopefully all youir hard work pays off.

Hi Felix, you are definitely on the right path and your game's developing nicely. I wouldn't worry too much about your backhand for now. Make small tweaks with it and maybe be a little more offensive minded with your backhand by taking the ball a little earlier a bit like Norrie does. But your game is all about big serves, the forehand after the serve and getting to the net and playing an all court attacking game. Just keep on focusing and developing these areas of your game. I think you'll easily get your first ATP point this year and it wouldn't surprise me if you got to around 1,000 in the world ATP by the end of the year. After this your goal should be to hit top 500 and then if you achieve that, making top 200. I think if you can crack the top 500 in the world in the next 2 years, you'll be in a good place to aim for top 200 by 22 by which time you'll be maturing physically. And after this, anything is possible! But these are just my thoughts, take it at your own pace, work hard, compete hard and remember to enjoy the journey including the ups and the downs. You have one shot at this so go for it😊👍👍

Great points there. On top of your ridiculous speed and calm mentality your courage is one of your weapons. Attacking the ball on your serve, forehand and backhand and then finishing the point at net helps you win a lot of points and helped you win your first match. This in mind I believe if you do up that aggression on your backhand and continue to be confident with your game you will get your first atp point very soon. Also as a very new tennis player, anytips to help me improve?

I'm kind of curious how the level compares between UK schools and US at the college level. I've not dug into it but there are quite a few ATP guys who went the US college route, even non-Americans like Cam Norrie (TCU) and Dominik Koepfer (Tulane). Karue went to UCLA (excellent in everything including academics) but even if you get into a D1 school that is in the same conference you'll play these top guys. I love your channel btw. My son plays a lot of tennis (age 11) so hopefully he sticks to it and plays at a high level like you. Maybe it fits in a reply or maybe it's some video in the future but I'd love your perspective on how parents can help their young juniors get better.

dont be afraid to try out new technical things. you wont unlearn the things you already do, worst case you fall back to the old technique. in contrary with going for new techniques you will be able to play your old ones better. forget the myth of muscle memory, what you do is you learn your brain coordination and movement techniques. shure its good to hammering down that one shot you have down very good to make it solid as a rock, but adding also new experiements is a good addon. never be one sided in training. dont overthink and dont be afraid. if a coach tells you to be careful to not loose muscle memory you might as well loose this coach asap.

I have to say you need to change the attitudd towards your backhand there is no better time to change it than now, it will forever be a weakness and wing people will attack as you advance pros and better players see that. I reckon listen to Karue its better you fix that backhand sooner rather than later. 4 months is nothing. In those 4 months you could come back twice a better player than choosing not to become better. And who says you cant play tournaments during that time? Serena changed her whole forehand after working with Patrick M for 1 month and 10 grand slams later.
@tennisbrothers

I am aware but I don’t believe the actual technique is really the problem
@Official.tadiwa
@Official.tadiwa 2 жыл бұрын
@tennis Brothers what do you think the problem is? Karue is quite correct though. And i bet you cant hit left forehands as good as your right hand. Another reason for a weak backhand.
@ivicaanic5213
@ivicaanic5213 2 жыл бұрын
@@tennisbrothers It is in my eyes, you are not using fully power of your left arm in a focused way - so yes you are able to produce strong shots, with good timing even winners. But if you for example have to defend low balls you cannot generate depth or power, also when you have enough time you generate power but ball tends to fly quite high very often - gives plenty of time to opponent to prepare. And those strong backhands that are short or in the middle of striking zone are just opening your side for nice set up and attack, opponent with solid backhand will eat those balls... I would say you will not be able to really progress much without improving that side, now I do not think you need to re-engineer it, but you do need to develop it further more. For example to learn better to hit deep double backhand from the run, to hit it better when balls is extremely low, to learn how to attack more often on that side and create angles or set up point. I would say do not use too much single hand backhand at this stage, you need first to settle solid double hander with strong defense and offense capabilities and ability to strike with precision, depth and power, it is not easy thing to learn so do not be shy to invest time and effort in it, it is at the moment the most weakest point in your overall quite solid game… Good luck.

Hey Felix, I think you're an awesome, really down to earth guy, and a really talented tennis player. In terms of making it professionally, realistically I'm not sure I can see it I'm afraid. Billy Harris who beat you comfortably in your most recent video has only earnt $68,232 total earnings to date, if I'm not mistaken, and that's including doubles. And he's 27. How much is that per year? I know you are about 8 years younger but I think your rankings need to be higher than where they are now if you are to stand a chance. I'd love to be proven wrong though....Maybe I'm missing something in terms of endorsement/sponsorship earnings, but I would imagine you would need a higher ranking to attract those. Best of luck though and keep pushing. I know it's not that simple but I always think you look most dangerous when you are at the net...keep pushing

I'd say it's about medium high. You can still hit a good ball, but it's tough to generate massive power and hurt your opponent. In order to do that, you'll likely gonna need a higher take back, so I definitely get what Karue said. If you go look at Novak's backhand analysis his racket path is insane...
