6.5 million pesos + 160000 pesos for AC would be around $122000. Where did the figure of $178000 come from?

It's great to see the construction value before you buy; Definitely a good deal here plus you can design to your liking and own. Hope you are feeling better; you were missed this week. I hope neighbor Mark is okay as well; every buzzard blogger in Duma have been reaping clicks gossiping about what went down. It's a mess I hope blows over for all involved; there's just too much at risk to lose on each side.

Thanks Remo! I have not seen Mark in at least 2 weeks, but I am sure he is fine. DRAMAguete is a CRAZY place. That’s why JL and I keep to ourselves and our circle of friends. If you notice, other than food reviews…we are normally in Valencia, Bacong, or Dauin. We only go into DRAMA for groceries once every two weeks

After seeing the quality of those hollow core blocks in the Philippines, I would never build a house out of them poor quality block.

You should never build anything there any way because you are not the owner, your wife is. Eventually someone will claim it or your wife will steal it from you and you will be railroaded by Philippine legal system. Also, nothing "European" standard about that crude structure.

I was trying to calculate the square footage in my head as you listed off each room. Does the 1600 sq ft include the garage and the porch?

In the Philippines they include the porch, balcony, and car port in the square meters. Whenever I mention the house I built I say 150 sqr meters living space and then mention the roof deck, balcony and porch separately. It’s very misleading.

This has alot of room...but do you know why the hallways in most of these places are so narrow? I even noticed the area from the house to the property line when someone lives next door is very narrow. Its hard to know if this is a good price based on much money has to be invested in the house. Would you know what the cost of a new roof on a house the Size of the living room in this House? Do you think it would be over $1000 usd ?

I also notice that the door to the bathroom in many of these houses are smaller then the bedroom doors and if you’re a big guy it might be difficult. That’s why when I had a house built all the doors are the same size except the front door. I wonder why a foreigner who made the final decisions on a house only had 1.5 bathrooms for a 3 bedroom house.

I don’t deal with rumors or gossip. JL and I do our own thing, and we stay out of the Dumaguete mess….but you do know the first rule about “fight club” don’t you?😂
