@@ayannabranchcomb7535 Lol it’s crazy because something like a real loving understanding relationship on equal ground or footing would be exactly what these two girls needed growing up surrounded by all the toxic masculinity around them and the weird sex as a means of power and control not pleasure, sexuality or autonomy thing. Like you said, though. This is Westeros. Even though there are gay characters but I think George put them in there because realistically 1 out of 3 people are gay in a given instance so it would just be entirely implausible that no one in the story is gay and no doubt offensive to the LGBTQ community but I think it starts and ends there. Inclusion. Besides that I don’t think George has much of an interest in homosexual relationships beyond any normal old white guy. ‘Mmm two hot chicks.” Which is why we get like one queerbait scene with Dany and her hand maiden and that’s it. The deepest male homosexual relationships that you get in the series we are mostly shown to revolve around sex, the fact that they deeply ‘love’ each other and not much else. We get no exploration, no development, no backstory, and no growth to these relationships. They’re there to be there and to add controversy and scandal to the show. I do get that none of the gay characters are leads so we’re not meant to spend that much time there but that’s sort of the problem. What’s more, even with that being the case Loras is a perfect example of a character thats gay that gets a decent amount of screen time but gets no dive into who he actually is a person besides gay character #1 whose life/livelihood are in jeopardy because he’s gay during like the worst time in history for that, him and his family are trying to hide that, he used to date Renly, and now he’s crazy and oh oop he’s dead. See what I’m saying? Lmfao

@@miaallen6161 honestly I would never look to GOT to have good gay rep, its a society based on medieval Europe so it makes sense to me that the only non straights shown were privileged westerosi men who could afford to do what they want and ignore rumors (but still be expected to marry a woman and carry out the family name blablabla) or foreigners. But you’re definitely right about lesbians, I don’t see that ever going well if they attempt to write it
