Hi Emma. Take no notice of people giving rude comments, you have plenty of us that appreciate you. Of course, critics were born knowing it all and us mere little folk have to learn as we go along. Bless you for the way you brighten up our days. X

You are wonderful Emma, don't give air time or your own personal time to critical people - some people are unhappy and miserable and enjoy trying to bring others down. They feed off an emotional reaction. You have so many of us supporting you. I love your honesty and your approach to gardening. I couldn't care less if anyone buys plug plants!! If you enjoy growing, then do it! Let's be honest, seeds don't always work out for a whole load of reasons. I also personally don't have time to grow everything from seed all the time. Gardening is meant to be fun and enjoyable! We've got your back Emma! ❤ 🌸

Emma just want to give you a big hug and a big thank you for encouraging me to take on a plot! I had my name down for years and if finally came up and was offered a plot. I was going to refuse it just negative thinking it would be too much and more importantly had to high an expectation on myself. But watching your videos has helped me to accept the plot.. But most importantly I am taking a little step at a time and just enjoying being on the plot, getting familiar with it and being hopeful. Thank you , don't ever change! You inspire a Scottish novice like me!

Emma Those who criticise are more than likely the ones that make bundles of mistakes. You are doing an awesome job with your gardening, and thank you for sharing your diaries with us 😊 There is no such thing as a perfect gardener, we All make mistakes. I made a huge one the other day, by taking my seedlings to my tent greenhouse to let them get more sun, and we got a really bad windy day the next day and I didn't secure my seedling trays to the shelves so they all ended up on the ground and destroyed. But like you, I said to myself, "Right, time to start again and sow more seeds." And that I did 😁 So keep up the fantastic job you're doing and know that you are Not alone when it comes to mistakes xxxxxxx

Totally agree with you about plug plants... those who consider it "cheating" are gardening snobs with lots of room, a greenhouse, and/or a polytunnel... none of which I have. That said, I do now have one three-tier shelving system set up with cheap grow lights and I'm starting more from seed than I ever have before. (The only reason I even have room for that is because my last child finally moved out!) I will still buy some plug plants, however, as I don't have room to grow all I want from seed... and, of course, not everything germinated as I'd hoped, LOL. I love your videos, Emma! Gardening is a lifelong learning journey full of trial-and-error!

I totally agree Emma, buying plug plants is not cheating. From the moment you buy the plant, you have to keep it alive for months. I live in a flat and don't have much space for all the seedlings I would like. And some plants are very difficult to grow and failed many times, so buying plug plants is more than ok. You have done so well, and are a great inspiration too. 🙂

Anyone who says different doesn’t have the courage to let others know that they make mistakes. Hi Emma, I've always grew my strawberries in planters, and every year I've struggled to overwinter them, losing most of them. Last year, I tried growing them in hanging baskets, overwintering them in the greenhouse and every one of them survived. This year looks like I'll get a bumper crop.

Emma, First don't worry about rude comments, they are only jealous, but regarding painting stones red , Birds are apparently colour blind , all you have to do is put a net over the top of your strawberry patch ,next your broad beans it is best to start them off until they are about 2-3" high then plant them , and also it is a bit early to sow runner beans , May is the right time , take care PT
