North, those long term relationships where the husband is "getting strange" on the side are about as happy and good as you would feel if you cheated to win a game of 40k against a friend who also knew you were cheating but let you get away with it because they love you and knew you really needed that win. I don't claim to know everything when it comes to relationships but I've been married to the woman I love for 21 years, (plus dated for 3 years before getting married), and I can tell you with some confidence that if I was getting random side action, with or without her approval, I don't think we would have made it through the rough patches that all relationships go through. Getting through those tough times together have forged a bond stronger than steel. "If you want a strong bond don't splurge in the forge." - Blacksmith to his apprentice.

I hope you'll take this as constructive feedback, but personally I'm finding these videos more and more frustrating to listen to. Quite often they seem to devolve from a hot-take on the original story to a full blown meandering rant which goes on for far too long and isn't particularly relevant to the topic at hand. With story two for example, the salient advice is that there is no point forcing someone to be interested in something they're clearly not. The rest of the rant about society etc. really did not feel very pertinent to the story at all. I'd personally prefer more focus on the actual stories being sent in.

Honestly dude, the guy that's complaining that his girl isn't into his hobbies needs friends. If his only friend is his girl, he's going to begin to resent her. You don't have to date or marry someone that is interested in your hobbies as long as she doesn't put you down for them. This guy needs some hobby bros, not a new relationship. Usually you give good advice, but telling dudes to sleep around is shitty advice. You can't complain about women sleeping around then write off promiscuous men. Sex is meant to be a beautiful thing between two people that truly love each other. Lust destroys progress. You can hit the gym all day, but lust will ultimately keep you down. If you keep having worthless relationships, you'll end up no better mentally than a porn star. You literally said tons of pointless sex will mess you up, yet still say it's a good idea.

Great comment mate, the other guy who replied to you, not so much. People confuse friendships and true love a lot nowadays and assume love is just some kind of super friendship. Love is Patient, Kind, understanding, and long enduring. If you truly love someone, the thought of physical intimacy with someone else is utterly abhorrent. A true loving, soulmate relationship is sometimes hard, but it is easily the most rewarding thing you can ever be a part of and have in your life.

Hey North, do you think the reason you still feel the urge to go off with other women is because you didn’t ever have to teach yourself self control? In the same way that women generally don’t teach themselves the same skills that men have to, do you think maybe you never taught yourself control due to being with many women when you were younger? So now what you see as a normal thing (sometimes thinking about going off with another women for a short stay) is really just due to not having taught yourself that self control?

You raise some challenging views which I don't entirely disagree with (but it's a bit of a pick and mix) with your takes on that middle story, but I do think you should have considered splitting this video into 2. I hope you see this as constructive crit, but I feel like it is really a bit awkward having that placed after a 13 year old's Hobby Nightmare where the kid is going to hear that and then if the video keeps playing it goes onto the subjects discussed after. I also think it takes the wind out of the viewers sails before that last one. It would have been 2 x 45-odd minute vids. I dunno, I appreciate that this is a mailbag with a variety of anecdotes but if the thought process is going to be this in-depth, maybe it's one to consider? Your last one there however is one of your best readings, with your very firm but fair take on the narrator who absolutely does seem like an arsehole (he's like the culmination of every "friend" I've ever known who verbally brags about being "on six figures" "I've paid my mortgage off" or "I've plowed through tinder" while he KNOWS he is in the company of people who are lonely, depressed, run-down and hard budgeting every month. As you say, the dude is definitely enjoying the way that the tables have turned and how things have panned out. It's a disgusting personality trait.

Men may not be built for monogamy, but civilization is to the point there isn't an example of civilization that didn't have it. Civilisation required the suppression of part of our tribal nature and promiscuous attitudes is one of them. There's a reason why every successful nation harshly punished promiscuity and its appearance is synonymous with society being in decline throughout history. The attitude of it returning is good and the majority of men it screws over by doing so is a recipe for disaster, I don't know how old you are North but for men under 30 the fact that the style of relationship you describe is one that society literally cannot function on if every man tried is pretty well known and, frankly, it's one of the many reasons why the coming cultural shift will be very socially rightward and will probably be better for everyone outside of those who get caught being degenerates after that has legal consequences again rather then just social ones.

We can’t turn that side of our brain off, but we are not animals anymore. I really don’t like the term high value man, it feels like an excuse to cheat. It makes one person in the relationship of less value. In this way marriage which should be a partnership, is now a one sided arrangement. One where one side is subservient to the other. To me that breeds an air distrust, and low self worth. It seems cynical to think that all men would cheat if given the chance. All the marriages I know of who have a cheating person are either unhappy, or divorced. To me when it comes down to it, you don’t love someone if you cheat on them. Because if you did, you would do anything in your power not to hurt them.

This is why I save relationship questions to the end of videos, or the end of the week :) We just happened to have one in the middle today because the last story is so massive. You're missing out if you don't listen to that last one - regardless of view count.

I’ll resume and skip ahead a bit. I’m also in a bit of a mood today…it’s been a crushing week of work. I do enjoy the channel tho.. cheers 🍻

@@penpointred Love you too, hope the video helps :) I tend to think a lot of frustrated comments are born from bad days. I do it all the time with other videos and if I'm caught at just the wrong moment I'll comment. Only reason I don't do it is that I do videos myself now xD

Sorry North I love most of your content but you are way off on this one. A man can be completely content with one woman physically…and love and like his wife at the same time. I’ve been married to the love of my life for 31 years so I know a thing or two about the topic. My wife is amazing and I was built for one woman.

Late to this one. But the final story, the writer sounds like a tosser, and a liar to boot. Some parts of the story seem like over exaggerated BS to fit with the way this guy saw the situation to make himself look better

Even as a niezschean myself l will admit most of us are pretty fuckin cringe, but l'm rather surprised to see north dislinking mah boi. I thought you were really into berserk and all that dudebro stoicism which should go hand in hand with a lot that he sais.

Hahaha wow this advice is totally uncucked. You are one of the few people in the hobby who would actually tell the truth about men and women. A lot of guys in the west get all of their ideas on romance from their fuckin moms or from romance movies. The problem is that the guys, the dads, the teachers, the coaches who should be mentoring young men tell them the same trite shit that will never benefit them in any way. I have sympathy for men under 25, it’s the guys who should have the life experience to know who I really find contemptible

I love how the last story encapsulates the mind of a typical right winger. 0 self reflection. "Are we the baddies" 😂😂😂 Even lion can't reconcile the reality of the story.
