I feel like those Judges, and parole board members are concerned about their OWN JOBS. From a very young age my mom always told me that I shouldn't let anybody touch me and that I could trust her. Thanks to that I made it out of two potencial rapes one from a family member and other from her "friend" that tried to. Since she taught me how to recognize those things what to do, I was able to get out of it and call her, she never doubted me and protected me, I'm so thankful for that. There's no excuse for this kind of behavior from the mom, sorry.

But i do know parents have this jealousy towards their children for some reason. That mum.. Just.. She had 3 options of knowing. Her child's medical problems, her child's behaviour and her child outright telling her. She chose to ignore all 3.. The only reason she "believed" her daughter, was because there was now evidence to be able to go to police, so she was saving her own skin too. I did not have the greatest of mothers, but when i finally admitted to my mother i was SA'd, she believed me right away. No hesitation. She even said she knew because she noticed me behaving in a way she recognised were "signs". She went so far as to make SURE it wasn't my dad too and it was ok to tell her if it was. (it wasn't) Both my sister and she were supportive.

At home she told me how the mother's brother had tried to abuse her. I hugged her and promised to make it right. We went to the Police, and they went to the house. The brother was still there. He was taken in for questioning. I was really disturbed in case he had abused his niece. He had, several times. He was found guilty and sentenced. I was so proud of my daughter. Children do not make up abuse. They don't even know about such matters. We owe it to them to listen and act. To brush it off is simply horrible. I'm so glad your mom believed you.
