I own an federal Signal UltraVoice (the same controller as this siren) the satellite activation is the most prone to failure and false alarm out of any other activation method If they just used ham radios with repeaters built into the cabinet communicating using DTMF they would cut down drastically the amount of siren failures and false alarms also DTMF can support 2 way (when a siren has a false activation or any other error it will alert the emergency management)

@@emrilbennett8704 for terrain where radio signals can’t really travel properly. They use satellite so that the base station is able to get the signals to the siren from above instead of from line of sight with the radio

@@jakeross7995 It's the type of computer/control unit connected to the siren, responsible for receiving the satellite signal and producing the sound that is then emitted by the speakers. The original commenter was confused as to why the siren in the video was producing a sound that identifies its control unit as a type which is not commonly used with this type of siren.

@@minecraftwizzard2010 these aren’t very old. Maybe 15-20 years at the absolute most, some are brand new. The older ones look different and usually are rusted. These are electronic ones which were all installed between 2000 and now.

@HawaiiSirenProductions The only difference between a 3012 and a 3024 id the 3024 held a larger amount of drivers in the same enclosure as the 3012. The 3024s were only made foe a short period of time and believed to be specifically made for Hawaii

@@Midwest_Sirens Hi-EMA doesn't have the equipment installed at their EOC center to use it, and Honolulu DEM scrapped their equipment back in 2013 during the satellite & cellular upgrade as it only worked with the old VHF activation system.
