Aloha!
On December 1, 2017, the state of Hawaii held its normal monthly test of the Tsunami warning siren. It was also the first time the state tested a new Nuclear Attack warning system in the event tensions with North Korea brings us to that. Of course we all hope and pray that it doesn’t, but we recorded the testing of both to distinguish the difference between the two. It’s always good to be prepared for the worst, but hope and pray the worst doesn’t come. If you live in Hawaii, know someone that does, or plan to visit the islands, please watch, share, and be prepared!
**If you are visiting Hawaii: Please be aware that the tests are done on the FIRST business day of every month.

The first week I was living in Hawaii, I heard the second siren and I thought we were getting washed away by a tsunami. Turns out, that's a nuclear attack siren.

Thank you! I still didn't know which was which. Just remember that now since NK has missiles that can reach the Mainland, we are not the primary target (at least that is what I keep telling myself).

The tsunami sirens sounds every first day of the month at 11:45. If it was real, we would get a warning on our phones and the sirens would sound.

Actually it’s the third time kapolei had done this on October 2nd (monday). I was at the ka makana Alii mall and it did the nuclear siren test after the tsunami test.

The tsunami siren just went off like 5 minutes ago... It's 8:30 p.m and nothing happened I live REALLY close to Pearl Harbor and another naval magazine so I don't know if that has anything to do with it? If it was a test, we just had one like 2 days ago... Anything?

theres no difference. Its a warning siren, meant for any disaster or dangerous event. It may be called nuclear or tsunami, but it doesnt make it different from being a siren other than the disaster type, and the tone they use
