Watching someone experience PoE in its current evolution for the first time is a beautiful thing .

This is rapidly becoming my favorite PoE series of all time. Each episode has me YEARNING for more! Go Hawg, GRIND LIKE YOU'VE NEVER GRINDED BEFORE!

what I love with poe is that there's always new stuff to discover, like from last episode "do claws actually give life/mana on hit to spells?" (haven't checked yet, probably as it's not specified "with attacks") "does holy flame totem proc flamewall?" (yes, flamewall reads "projectiles fired through the wall by you and allies" and holy flame totem is tagged as projectile, so it does fire projectiles.)

Man, its awesome getting some fresh PoE content 10 years later. I used to play this game for hours every day after work when I was a young buck in the Navy trying to stay outta trouble. Getting to see your first play through has been a blast. Got you on the side screen while I build my own game at night.

Dude, I'm like you. I spent nothing on D4. But for this game, I just bought a few packs, some weapon and armor skins, and some stash tabs. Happy to, because the game is flat out amazing and I actually want to support these devs. I'm just flying by the seat of my pants, not looking at guides, and came up with some poison bow build that has shadow minions and heavy into life steal and mana regen....it's so God damn fun.... Love the content, keep it up !!

There's always that one group of people that when they see a reputable/knowledgeable person hold mainstream accountable for bad business practice, they get the ol' reliable torch and pitchfork out instead of giving a single solid coherent defense in regards as to why said mainstream AAA company is right in how they treat the community. Glad you're enjoying the game :D Here's one thing to clear up the map overlay so its less cluttered (so u can leave it on all the time and still see what is attacking you): Press escape / Options / UI tab. If you're at the top of the list, scrolled down a bit, you will see 3 sliders. Don't touch the middle slider. Move the 1st (Landscape Transparency) and 3rd slider (Map Zoom) all the way to the left to zoom out and clear texture up. save to apply.

More, Hawg! More! Loving the playthrough. Fishing is sort of a community joke/easter egg. There are Incredibly rare items and NPCs that reference fishing and items to improve your fishing. A lot of community members work together to find new hidden fishing-related stuff and interactions in the game. If no one has already told you, you can type /dnd to toggle Do Not Disturb mode while you are streaming to keep viewers from sending you invites/messages/trade requests during your vids. Keep em coming!

Yo Hawg, you can actually customize your map! make it more transparent, less or more details. I like it where its just the smooth lines.

Fun fact, back during PoE beta years ago, Merveil used to be exactly like Diablo 2 Duriel. She had a small arena and she spammed unavoidable frost attack so similar to Duriel she was a simple gearcheck boss.

It is very rewarding and fun to follow your PoE journey. There's something very special about experiencing this game for the first time, and it's very satisfying to watch. You're really having fun, and that's how an arpg should be.

I really appreciate you playing the game blind, most people instantly just go to guides online, takes the fun out of it imo. Yeah your first couple of characters might be fuck ups but you will learn and it's way more fun this way

Started watching Hawg cause of some other streamers' reactions a while back. I almost didn't because I was “over” reactions to D4, but watched anyway out of curiosity because Hawg looks similar to one of my best friends; who similarly (and no offense to Hawg himself) looks like the last person who'd like games/be nerdy, but is. Stayed because he's playing my favorite ARPG, I liked all his other videos I've watched, and he also lives in Texas…which for some reason I find that last bit neat. Been sort of skimming through these episodes at work, on break. Need to sit down and watch 'em all the way through.

im never one to get emotional about a game but this game im not lying when i say this save my life and the fact that my ALL TIME FAVORITE GAME is getting love finally makes me so happy! ive been playing since right before beta closed off for final build release , so emotionally im floored out and im so glad everyone can enjoyit together and that it wont die off!!!! thank you all so very much and i really mean that!

This game is really fun because you get multiple skills and can fill up your skill slots by like lvl 10 and you feel just as powerful as an end game character in D4 cause you don’t even get all your skills until lvl 50.

Path of Exlies patch 3.22 comes out on August 18th. It starts the new league: Trial of the Ancestors and ends the Crucible league. Patch notes were revealed today. Your current Crucible league character will be moved to the standard league. All items will be transferred to standard league, including items with Crucible passive skills but not Crucible league specific currency. In order to play the new league on the 18th of August, you will need to make a new character in the upcoming Trial of the Ancestors league.

Just something to think about Hawgman: Once you release Scion from a cage in Act 2 (I think...or maybe around level 35), you unlock her as a playable character. You should try her then!

D4 d-riders will continue mouthing off until you ignore them.

One tip about skills that shoot multiple projectiles: the projectile hits do not “shotgun” single targets. Only a single projectile out of the bunch will hit the enemy so multiple proj is not BIS for all projectile builds. The one exception to this is projectile skills that have AoE explosions as their damage, like Blazing Salvo or Poisonous Concotion. The projectiles don’t actually hit the enemy, it’s the ground AoE that hits enemies, and you can have multiple overlapping ground AoE hits. Therefore these skills CAN shotgun and their single target damage can increase with number of projectiles.

LOL that was great. Had me rolling. Will have to come check you out on twitch. Thousands of hours in playing POE myself. Played D4 eternal and season but damn did it fall off hard at endgame. Gave me something to do for like a week. I'll stick to POE where at least the leagues I play for a solid 2 months.

Loving all your poe streams\playthroughs!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Its my go-to everytime i see you've played dome more, Also wanted to chime in on what my Favorite movement skill set-up: Lightning warp+Faster casting+Reduced skill effect duration(I've used it on virtually every witch ive ever made since it qas fearured un a build if tye week years ago) both of the supports make it go off faster by making you cast LW faster & reducing the time for the teleport to happen and by the time you get all of three gems to lvl 20 & 20% quality it's instant, it's actually probably instant or close enough before that point, One of my main reasons for loving it is you can teleport across obstacles in maps & whatnot & the traps in the trials of ascendancy, Some people might prefer leap slam, or one of the other movement spells or skills but I like lighting warp because it's more thematically consistent with witch also the stats are easier to achieve overall aside from recuced casting which us a strength based gem.

I think that you need to activate your clarity aura. You can tell when an aura is on when there’s a gold ring around the skill box. It will also reserve a small portion of your mana bar and turn it gray. Great video btw, happy for ya!

I didn't watch every second of these videos you've made of your first playthru, but what I watched of these 3 episodes was super fun. Your commentary makes me smile and watching you figure things out is great. Reminds me of my first playthru. I found PoE after the disaster that was Blizzcon 2018. I was so upset w/Blizzard and wanted to find a different "diablo like" game. I've never given Blizzard a single dime ever since I found PoE. Glad you're having fun, hope to see you Friday when the new league starts!

From here on out, you want to have the most important mechanic of the game maxed out, and that's your elemental resistances. First few acts, focus on cold and pick up fire and lightning later on. After around act 3 you want to have all of your resistances maxed out at 75% with all your gear. You can check your resistance from the character->defense tab(C)

glad to see you're enjoying the game, few more tips you can right click the yellow exclamation marks and it will show you what area the quest is in for. Also I find it funny that you compained about D4 not having a group finder or clan manager, which are both in POE, you can find the group finder in town (called the billboard) and there are even hideouts for guilds so you can have a town area that is fully customizable with several possible base layouts so you never have to go to town again after the story. The stash tab bundle, which I highly recommend you pick up if you intend to play the game seriously, cost less than the price of d4, and will probably be on sale during the first couple weeks of the new patch which is coming out on the 18th. Also hope you find the second skill bar eventually XD, so you can slot your other 5 skills. Just a little tip on that is that you can keybind the second skill bar even if it's not active which is super useful for auras/buff skills/summons that you don't have to resummon all the time.

You can roll those big chests(strongboxes), BTW. If the chest is white you can use a transmutation orb to turn it magic, an alchemy orb to turn it rare or a chance orb to get a random result.

fishing rods have a niche use of being able to roll any keystone as a corruption, but they are generally useless as they only have 4 sockets and roll fishing related mods. you may be able to find Krillson, Master Fisherman, which gives you fishing quests if you have a rod equipped. if you find him you are both very lucky and unlucky because seeing him is the same rarity as dropping a mirror.

Watching these has made me wanna play again, with how bad d4 has been there's probably a big influx of new players and I always like helping people and explaining things to new players. The community is what really keeps people coming back to PoE

Kinda funny how this game has been here for many years. And now many of these Diablo players found out this game. I guess its true, D4 is the best ad for PoE.

I too haven't spent a dime in the Diablo IV store but yet, I have no problem spending money on a game like PoE which is a Love letter to the genre, community and fans. A great game created by people who cares about the genre and who can play it themselves and not fake it.

So during d4 beta i stopped watching your content. This is because you were defending d4 then because it hasnt released yet. I was one of the ones worried about how bad it was going to be. Then to see you change your tune when the issues became apparent surprised the hell out of me. I gained a ton of respect for you (not that it matters from my rando ass) but still, its refreshing thank you.

Poe is a little better experience in solo play. But dedicated support can increase your dps 4 times in magnitude. And there is crazy synergy you can make. Group find is in every town btw

The people that have discovered the secrets of fishing in PoE keep that information closely guarded. If you get a fishing rod, but haven't found out what to do with it, you can sale it to another player for a lot.

Wait until you unlock Zion. You get to branch out from the middle of your skill tree. I'm doing a Spirit Throw/ Necro build currently. It's awesome to watch Hawg experience POE for the first time!

Can't wait to see which ascendancy you choose. I'm also a player that came from 3 years of Diablo 2 to PoE this league. The ascendancies are the coolest thing since they have such cool art for the witch(you get ascendancies by completing all of the trials of ascendancy(small trap rooms) in Act 2 and Act 3. You'll know if there is one in an area when in the objective corner it says "complete trial of ascendany")

The D4 store has some cool armor sets... I've bought 1 set for rogue, sorc, and necro... but I've also spent like 300$ on PoE armor sets as well. way back when.

lol POE is great, I’m a veteran player, probably spent 200$ in the past 4 years, also a long time Diablo fan, bought and enjoyed D4 for what it is, got my monies worth. Never expected POE, expected a fun play though and a few dozen hours of end game.. got it. People play AAA games all day long that provide a single 40 hr play though with no complaint, yet D4’s 100 hours is somehow not worth your precious s-e-v-e-n-t-y whole dollars. Remember that Diablo 1 cost 100.29$

New league starting soon! Its a great feeling using what you learned on your first character to optimise your next. Most games are likes this of course, but the depth this game provides means, the more you can learn, the more leverage you get. Once you think you figured it all out, POE 2 will around the corner.

PoE accepted the learning curve, and systems with complexity and nuance, because although that can make it seem daunting for new players, in the long run it provides balance and flexibility that D4 can't touch. I gladly welcome having to learn all kinds of arcane BS, if what I get in return is a game with actual depth.
