I always put tent on the kick stand side. More room and not on the hot exhaust side. Why do you feel this is the "safe side"? You think the stand will sink? I always carry a 4 inch diameter aluminum puck that goes under mine. If it's not on concrete that puck goes under the stand

For sure, Dan! I love a good hammock, but when on rallies or camp sites in norway, there´s not many trees around. I´m not the one selling these tents, but I will guarantee that you´ll love it! I've talked to several people that got the goose, and almost all of them regretted not buying the Toucan. I'm very happy with my Toucan and the extra space, though it is a small tent, it gives you the space you need every night 😁

But this past season i tried out The Road Kitchen, which is a new item from Wingman Of The Road. And i loved it. Its a bit heavy and maybe just a little big for some people. But - I do believe they added those leather loops after their first batch. So maybe I got lucky and they sent one of the first with them on it. And maybe they sent out the ones without them so they wouldn't be stuck with a bunch in stock. This is just a thought, I really have no idea. 😊

I have to disagree with some of your comment. 😊 There's definitely NOT "so many better tents out there for motorcycle camping". Yes, you can find lighter tents. But that doesn't make it better 😉 Wingman of The Road tents is by far the best quality, easiest to put up and most comfortable I've ever come over. @@HawkonRides ok fair enough. It does look like a good solid tent but i adventure camp in some pretty remote areas here in Canada. If i carried a tent that huge with me i would have no room for other necessary items..Not to mention the weight would seriously effect the handling offroad.I guess it just depends on what type of riding your planning on doing..

But I try to let the tent dry off as much as possible before I roll it up. So I can't say it won't happen but it hasn't happened to me. At least not yet 😉

I really appreciate it 😁🙌🏼 The Goose tent has exactly the same features when it comes to comfort as the Toucan, just a bit narrower. 70cm instead of 90cm. And of course the hight inside is a bit lower. But it has the same type mattress and sleeping bag of course. On the other hand I know Wingman of the Road has made some serious changes to the Toucan. Check out their website for more information 😉

Thanks Marta :-D It would be guessing, but The Goose tent wich is a little bit smaller I believe would fit just fine. The Toucan might be too big for comfort while sitting on the bike. ;-)

Thanks for your nice feedback and your great question :-) When I have had to roll it up wet I´ve zip locked both sides, keeping the zippers under the little flap at the top of the tent, beneeth the extendable pole. Then i shake off as much water I can. And of course put it back up as soon as I find a new campsite. I have not experienced water inside the tent yet, but then again, I haven´t been in the worst rainstorms of all man kind either ;-) What I have experienced is that when I´ve packed it down wet, it hasn´t been as wet when I´ve put it back up after a day of riding. So I guess some air can get in the roll while riding. Enjoy your riding, and feel free to ask me anything if you have more questions :-)

Hi Riley. I put my Toucan on the back of the seat. Haven't got a very big luggage rack on my Harley. So i wouldn't know the correct answer to your question. BUT I've seen many different sized motorcycles with these tents on the back, and it seems to work in perfect harmony 😉 Send a mail to Wingman Of The Road to hear what they have say. It look VERY big when new. But keep calm, it will get slimmer and slimmer the more you roll it up. A tip is to not tighten the tarp your tent is rolled in too much. Just enough to "close" the sides. This makes the roll a bit wider but much slimmer 😉 Just give it a shake to get rid of excess water, roll it up and go 😃 Set it up when you get to wherever you're going and let it dry as much as possible 😉 Most importantly - do not store it away while wet.

I used it a couple of times already and I simply ditched the top box off my bike because I used to put my sleeping bag etc in there anyway (now I don't have to). Thanks for that tip it helped a lot and you are correct it does soften up a bit after a few uses. Can only get better eh?

@cptntwang When I tie the cover before I roll it, I don't tie it too tight. Just enough so both sides are protected for against rain. This make the finished roll a little bit broader and won't make it uncomfortable sitting in the seat 😊 Hope this is understandable 😉

That's kinda what the name Toucan says, two-can 🤣 I've never tried being two inside. Just got the bigger one to be as comfortable as possible when out on a long haul 👌🏽 Tips: When you tie the four strings together, don't tighten them too much. Just enough so the sides fold inward a bit. Then when you roll it up it's a bit wider but doesn't take up space on the seat as much.

@@HawkonRides cheers i keep that in mind might unpack and pack a few times to get the best pack away size yeah this tent is size of a single bed in width dident get it for 2 up got the larger so i was not kicking my self for not going bigger if i had gopt the small one done this mistake with tents befor i cant belive how much light black out they is used nylon tents for so many years you dont realise

Hi there, Paul. 😊 This tent is approximately 7 feet 1 inches, so you should be good and comfortable. I'm about 5,9" so I even have room for a lot of luggage inside. Lucky me I guess 😁

@@paulcummins5231 absolutely! 😃 I've used mine SO much, and everytime I put it up it looks like it's straight out the box. 😊 The most important thing to do, and I do this maybe a couple of times during the season just to be sure, but especially before first time use, is to water it down with a hose. Then let it dry in the shade. This process will expand the fibres and make it water resistant 😉Happy camping brother ⛺

Maybe for some. But not for me and the Harley-Davidson Super Glide Sport I'm riding. Can't feel the weight at all. And I have two panniers and a big sissybar bag. So I have plenty of room. On this summers 1 month trip I actually had too much with me. Meaning I never used everything I brought 🤣 For me riding mostly in Scandinavia, this tent is absolutely the best for the weather and temperatures. But I respect that other people want other kind of tents. I'm not selling this, I just made a video sharing my enthusiasm for a product I fell in love with. 🤩 Hope you find a tent suitable for your needs, brother. Ride Safe - Ride Far 🤘🏼😎

@@alessandroaprile181 Sadly I don't have all the answers but I try my best to be helpful 😊 May I suggest you send a email to Wingman Of The Road and ask? I know that if you ride like a Harley-Davidson Ultra or something big like that, you can strap the Toucan or the Goose tent on the top box. That way you can still have a passenger. If I would take away my sissybar luggage and put on a higher sissybar, I could easily put the Toucan upright and strap it to the sissybar. My luggage rack weighs way more then the Toucan. It's all about how YOU like to ride, what can you go on a trip without or how can you pack differently? Try and fail I guess 😃 Hope you find this helpful. And best if luck to you on your search fir the perfect tent. 😉

Thanks, Brad. It fits perfect on my ride. Gives me the best backrest while riding. They also have the smaller one, the Goose. That one is smaller and would fit nicely on a smaller motorcycle like a scrambler for example.

Well, luckily we don't have that bad weather over here in Norway. But when the winds blows bad, I usually tigh down the bike too. And I always, ALWAYS put up the tent on the opposite side of the kick stand. So if it would fall, knock on wood, it will most likely fall away from me 😉

@@HawkonRides Just be careful and be aware that it could happen. This past summer I had my Harley Davidson Road King blown over by a storm with gusty winds. It was on paved level ground, on the kickstand, and blew over opposite of the stand. It can/does happen.

@@GJM866 I'm glad you care for my well being, thank you. But I feel I take the necessary precautions if it gets windy. Like tighing down the bike. Also, these tents doesn't have to be connected to the bike. You can set it up where ever you want, just like a regular tent. 😊 #ridesaferidefar

I can understand that it seem to big for for some. Depending on what kind of motorcycle you ride. This is the biggest tent they've got. But if you ride like a café racer or something, the Goose tent is perfect in size. Check it out o. Their website if you like 😊 Oh, and happy new year 🎆

I guess you and me are two different types of riders. I enjoy living beside the road or off the beaten track. Hotels are not a part of my journey when I'm on a month long haul. That's why I enjoy the extra space in this "2 person" tent, wich I would not prefer to be to person in. It's quite a tight squeeze 😊
