As far as planets go, it’s like Thraxa exists to perfectly teach Mark an object lesson about why Nolan’s conditioning was so hard to break, initially, and why it took such a dramatic and terrible event to do it. I never really bought into the whole pet thing, because you don’t have emotional or intellectual parity with a pet, but Nolan was lying about it anyway. But the perspective of valuing very short lived beings less due to their lifespan isn’t entirely alien or unreasonable from a human viewpoint.

"You have to rock a sick mustache to be a man as a viltrumite" Unironically yes, Robert and Cory both associated dads and mustaches, so Omni Man got one, then when building the galactic lore Robert thought it'd be amusing if all of an alien race had mustaches, so he did that with the Viltrumites. So much like Spartans really cared about being washed and combed hair. Viltrumites care if the men grow their mustache.

Even the name "Viltrumite" is a reference to the mustache. The "Philtrum" is the middle area of the upper lip with where an indentation exists, which is also the area where a mustache is grown. "Viltrumites" essentially means "Mustache people".

I've seen a few people say that Thula (the female Viltrumite) must be "weak" since she uses a knife, ignoring the fact that she is visibly older than even Nolan, implying she's been strong enough to survive thousands of years of combat. Also, the level of skill it takes to wield it in combat as a natural part of her fighting style shows she's done this for a long time. There's nothing saying a Viltrumite HAS to fight barehanded.

I feel like that knife has gotta be pretty special too considering it is able to consistently cut a Viltrumite. I feel like a struggle for Viltrumites wielding weapons is how to get your hands on something that could be relevant in that level of combat without breaking immediately.

The mustache thing is actually a silly pun on the name viltrum. The philtrum is the name for the upper lip where a musta he would grow so all male viltrumites have mustaches. Kinda like how a saiyan keeps their hair from birth.

Omni Man is strong, but he’s not stronger than a Black Hole, no viltrumite is. He was right on the edge of the event horizon, which nothing an escape, and he caught the ship before it too got stuck in the event horizon.

I think Omni-man did try to replace mark and his mom but it didn't take, he doesn't understand his own feelings so now that he's in this shitty place he's trying to return to normalcy and when he was last happy but he can't because he hasn't delt with his old shit back on earth. I think Micky's right about him needing therapy, I really can't grasp where Omni-man is at coming from a Nazi planet for however many thousands of years to earth lifestyle for like 30-40 years....then to losing it all and not knowing why he cares.

@@someguy6135Based on Debbie's reaction it didn't. After Nolan said she's like a pet to him she had her hand over her mouth but there were no tears. When he said her life was worthless in the grand scheme of things she started crying. I think they bring it up so much because it stuck with the fans and not because it hurt Debbie more. People were making memes about the pet line.

@@jd1800 Eh, saying her life doesn't matter "in the grand scheme of things" is less impactful than calling her a pet, since the qualifying statement "in the grand scheme of things" combined with the obvious inner conflict within Nolan about his family, makes it obvious that Debbie does matter to him. He's trying to rationalize why he shouldn't care about them precisely because he does. So while it's an awful thing to say, it isn't entirely true, and it wouldn't take much convincing to realize that.

Something that isnt really explained, and is skimmed over about this alien bug race; They live very short life spans in comparison to humans....and so their customs state that the oldest among their species is allowed to become their ruler...and seeing as omniman is well beyond 100yrs old, it puts him at the top by age alone...they made him king simply because of that...
