Thanks to Gavin for letting me know that this was happening, and filming his beautiful 185. What a classic, eh? Filmed in Cumbria, England. Want to see some more like this? Try the "stanbrinsmead" channel?

Thanks for this. Evokes many happy memories of the 100 series,we never used the doors on our 168 instead we would jump off the PTO cover and leap frog over the back of the seat!

Would have been a good promotional film for MF tractors and equipment in its day Alan, lovely looking crop of hay! Very well found and filmed.

had same tractor on the farm for 20 years nut sold off cos wanted a newer tractor with 4x4 and proper cab. the 185 was powerful with its 4,1 litre engine,ca 80 horses and 280nm torque. this one had the standard 4x2 gear without multipower and ran only 24 kilometres pr hour on 2000 rpm on 4 high gear. it was sloooow on the road but was very fast and powerful on the fields with 3row bottom plough and harrow.

Lucky you! Great tractors before electronics spoiled them.

Good one Alan. Don't get more classic than this, you can fix it with a spanner and screwdriver unlike the modern ones.
@balmesh6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Tim. With the old Fergie you only needed one spanner, too.

old school just like we did on our farm back in the late 70s early 80s only we did not have a flat 8 only a bale sledge so we loaded using forks
@balmesh6 жыл бұрын
Yes, I learned bale catching on a sledge. Using forks was great if the bales were not too heavy . . .
