In Japanese he actually said literallly that "i'm becoming a human being who doesn't watch Tv or Movies" which means that he doesn't watch movies anymore. I think he probably was very fascinated by both animated and live action movies but nowadays he is probably not receiving the same stimulations he received in the past...or maybe he just feels too old to watch new things

It fits his style, you can tell, that he isn't influenced by other media as much. Since most of his movies tackle mostly topics that are more timeless it may help him to take an outside perspective. I don't think he would have been able to direct movies like Your Name or a Silent Voice, because they address modern (Japanese) culture. Just like Makoto Shinkai probably wouldn't have been able to direct something like Spirited Away. That's the beauty about art, great things can be created by almost opposite approaches.

I don't really know to be honest... First he criticizes contemporary animators and artists cause they don't look at the real world to understand how animations work or how "x" looks like...then he admits he doesn't look at other people's movies / animated movies which doesn't seem to be such a great move as an artist and animator and feels a little bit hypocritical .

The Pescavelho Channel no they aren’t...lol. They just have overwhelming fire power compared to other nations, to the point where it is harder to “not lose” with that capability. USA, Russia, China are arguably three of the most overrated countries in terms of war records. USA and China basically lost to Vietnam, while Russia lost to Afghanistan. The time has changed where Super powers can go full out and destroy one country, since it will hinder the economy of their country (and make other surrounding nations rich in contrast). That being said, Japan was awful at war, and so was Germany. They both took advantage of new technology to go berserk against old tech nations...when the US came, both countries were exposed. There are very few countries that are actually “good” at war. Vietnam was one of them. They fought against IJA, De Gaulle’s France, Cold War USA, Mao Zedong’s China, and won all of them (yes, they did. None of the countries above succeeded in achieving their goals, and went home packing). That is VERY impressive.

@Ernesto 。 Japan is bad at war in the sense Miyazaki is most likely referring to the leadership, Japan historically has always had pretty awful generals and people in charge, the Bushido thinking got in the way in WW2 and Japan ended up committing so many mistakes it would cost her independence, the avg Japanese soldier however fought very well in fact the Japanese soldier was better trained than the American soldier and Japanese had a lot of well trained and experienced pilots and naval crews. But Japan fought a bad war, made terrible mistakes and lost not only in China, but also in the pacific. Only the biggest fool would start a war when you have no OIL to fuel your navy to fight the biggest naval forces in the world.

I don't believe in anti-Semitic conspiracy theories. Americans slaughter Middle-Eastern children pretty much on their own, they don't need Jewish influence when they obviously started the war to make money off of oil and weapons manufacturing. And don't pull that shit because Anti-Israel people love to shit on Islam too, and at other times justify the war in the Middle-East by saying that Islam is evil. You don't care about the children, you just want to use emotional retorts to guilt liberals and roclaim moral superiority, yet complain when they do the same. You're a disgusting breed of person.

Miyazaki used to be a radical Communist up until he went to work for Ghibli at which point he was told to tone it down a bit, which he did although his movies are filled with Socialist views and environmentalism. People say his movies contain a lot of feminism but this is wrong, its a Socialist view on women, Soviet cinema did the same thing showing empowering women who did the job of men, because Socialism is egalitarian.

I had no interests in the topic which was neither popular or recent, or anything relating to me, just something random. I decided to look it up on Google... Only got to type the first letter and there it was, a few results based on the first letter of what we were talking about. What's the chances that's a coincidence.
@StudioKonKon
@StudioKonKon 4 жыл бұрын
@Edward I do know how search engines work, considering I have volunteered programming one in the past. Yes a "search result" (live result as you pause typing [I was thinking how to spell it]) and for "its usually the popular topics" that's why I said it's not popular or recent. It was something that happened locally over 50 years ago and was only 2 articles existing for it, one of which no longer exists (404) and the other written by the local newspaper around 15 years ago and only has 1 paragraph briefly mentioning it, everything else was completely different and unrelated (but this, I searched, was last year sometime). I've tried it now and it doesn't appear. I can't remember how to spell that word and Google is not finding it by its misspelling either. It's using the same account. I had my phone in front of me at the time and it was connected to mobile data (internet). My PC however, which doesn't have a microphone, uses a different account yet almost never suggests or recommends the right things I'm looking for.

Nah, everyone has a different approach. It makes sense to watch movies critically if you want to make them. The reason why it works for Miyazaki is, because the topics of his movies are very timeless and he basically defined what a good animated movie looks like. He looks at the world and tries to capture it in film. So the right way to learn from hom is probably to not only watch movies, but to watch the real world as well. To see how people interact in reality and to critically see, if modern movies portray this realistically.

@@melonlord1414 yes i totally agree his stories came from his experience throughout his life and how he felt about certain aspects of human behavior yet i feel like in order to properly present an idea a certain need of studying is required on how others did what they did in an analytical way, this is my approach obviously Miyazaki is different like any other individual it depends on them how they approach something still it is really impressive that his ideas is totally his if you compare it with Tarantino he openly admits of taking inspiration from other director's work.
