Great 5th wheel .. my biggest concern about them is the dining table. I'd like to see you sit window side. I'd love it if they gave the free standing tables that could go outside too. That way if your family is pleasantly plump they can adjust their dining area.

Josh, thank you for your videos (especially the 5th wheels). I really, really appreciate the effort that goes into the making of them. In my opinion the best part of the videos is your pointing out the nuances that many of us newbies would miss. That is very thoughtful. Another great feature is showing the RV in the travel configuration. I also like the floor plans and spec charts that are shown at the first of the video. I always pause the video to look at these items. One way that you could improve the video (for me, at least) is to lower the specification box about one line. When I pause the video, youtube superimposes the title of the video in the same are as the top line of the specification box. Thanks again for the great work.

Where others put their heat vents on the floor, it’s just a dirt catcher. I tape over the vents to keep the sand and dirt out of them and also take the screws out so I can get the vent covers out to vacuum the vents under the floor. I would really like the ventless floors!

Hi Josh. You are definitely one of the best reviewers on KZfaq! I have always enjoyed all the different types of content you have provided through the years. I own a 2021 310-GK and thought I’d weigh in on the televator question based on my user experience with this rig. First, the viewing angle from the couch is a non-issue. I regularly watch the TV while laying on the couch. It feels no different than watching the TV in my living room at home which has a variety of seating at different angles to the TV. You are still quite close to the big 50” TV from the couch and views very naturally. The biggest thing I notice is how much more the space feels opened up when the TV is in the stowed position. You get a lot more full-depth counter space when the TV is down which provides more volume and opens the space up. The biggest surprise is how much that window hidden by the TV adds to the natural light in the RV coming from the driver’s side. That window is bigger than most might think. Plus, the window adds a lot more outdoor viewing on the kitchen side, which would be otherwise pretty limited. To me, the more of the outdoors you see from the inside, the bigger the inside feels. I know the swing-out TV system would add some more storage. I’m not sure how much storage but we don’t come close to using up all the available storage now. That may be because it’s only my wife and me. Everybody will have different needs, but I love how much larger the interior space performs and feels when the TV is not in use and stowed. I like the road mode. It helps to see if you have to go straight to the campground and then go to the store or stop at the store and go to the campground. Personally, I would like to see one with a rear kitchen to compare the room in the living area.

I love the swing-out tv and storage behind, that's my preference. I really like the big stovetop and symmetry, and I really like the ones where the slide floor is matching, makes the space look larger to me. This is beautiful, but I prefer the Cougar 316RLS.

The wife has a stock answer for gadgets like the televator: "Just one more thing to break". She's a smart woman.

Love this unit! One day when we hit the lottery 😂. I do like the Televator even though you would be able to see the TV better from the rear couch with a swing arm. The window behind the cook top might end up being a bit of a problem regarding splashes and grease from cooking. The underbed storage slide out trunk is a great extra! I am surprised that G.D. does not put the basic solar package on the Solitude mansions. Thanks for the road mode Uncle Josh!

Hi Josh! I too believe that you are THE BEST RV REVIEWER on KZfaq! Hands down...! I own a Grand Design. Which Haylett did not sell. When we decide to upgrade to our next Grand Design, we will make the short jaunt over to Coldwater and maybe then, finally meet THE MAN, THE MYTH, THE LEGEND, face-to-face. Okay, onto the meat and the potatoes... One thing that I hear from you often is the lack of a larger exhaust fan in "higher trim" level RV bathrooms. Particularly the Grand Designs. My in-laws, (both in their eighties, lifelong RV'ers, and now full-time/Snowbirds), told me years ago, that even a small bathroom fan can, and will, pull the odors right up out of the black tank if it is running when you flush. And who wants to relive that experience....? Additionally, it only takes a small draw to remove the moisture when showering. I have never seen the need to upgrade a small bathroom fan. Just something that makes sense to me. My opinion. No harm, no foul. From a fellow Michigander, Love ya Brother.

Really nice colors and trim inside this Grand Design. I prefer the swing arm as well that also allows easier upgrades to the TV over time, such as 5-10 years down the road, not to mention the ability to swing it for easier viewing.

I finally got to see the RV Nerd take on the 310GK. Not the R model for us. I have been waiting for your take on this model for some time. This is one of our finalists, we must see before pulling the trigger. I will say I would rather have the trash on the island where the dishwasher would be. Then have more pull out drawers by the stove. But I love the layout and design. I especially like this bathroom sink over the vessel sinks in the Montana and Northpoint. I'm also very cool with the televator. I like that you can remove it from the room or the view without any trouble. TV is for bad weather or later at night when you don't have time for a campfire. Maybe I'll just use a video loop of the Bish's campfire. Thank you very much for doing this model. Great job, very informative.

I saw these a year or so ago when they 1st came out. With the sunken Living room 1 and 1/2 bath etc. So much nicer. This is nice yet was much larger for basically the same price. Now seeing they have aprox 20 diff models not seeing the sunken Living room or some had kitchen to Living room at top few steps? As bedroom on other side. Now more with added bunks etc. Other floor plan so much more home like especially for Full time RVERS. WAS Absolutely Gorgeous

I’m 6 foot eight these are one of the RVs that I’m able to get into comfortably it’s a nice fifth wheel unfortunately I am not able to find one to actually go to I live on Long Island and they’re not around so hopefully I’ll be able to find one and be able to actually walk through it

I know the dealership where you recorded this. It’s outside of Davenport, IA where we traded our 2021 Pinnacle for a 2022 GD 346Fl. They were great to deal with. Grand Design’s customer service was one of the main reasons we switched.

Great review Josh...as usual. I'd say it's near perfect except for 3 things (my personal opinion of course). 1 - Needs to have the option of a 12V refrigerator. That would be the one reason I wouldn't buy it. 2 - I agree, needs to have a big fan in the bathroom and 3 - should have a full size sky light over the shower. I think they have that in their Imagine trailer. Really adds light and a more spacious feeling in the shower. If I could find a truck to tow it and they made those changes, I'd be all in. ;-)

Josh, if you get a chance take a look at the Solitude 390RK-R. Rear raised kitchen is gorgeous with massive storage under it, and the living area with the designer real wood wall is stunning. WOW bathroom. An odd letdown: The 2,240 pound cargo capacity is a huge let down considering the size of the outside storage.

This is really a nice rv! I did catch a glimpse of what looked like white or at least lighter colored sofas when you switched to roadmode and the two-way fridge model. I think I prefer the lighter colored furniture since all of the woodwork is so dark. As long as it is a leather or pleather covering that is. If it is fabric then that is a no-go with three dogs. The kitchen is extremely functional although the pantry space is a little bit limited it does not appear very deep but perhaps that is just this particular model and a longer version of this would be equipped with a deeper pantry I'm not sure. I like the idea of the swing arm TV as I do think it will provide for better overall viewing for anybody sitting on the sofa plus any bonus storage behind it would be a nice plus. The bathroom is great and I love the fold down shower seat as opposed to having only a molded shower seat. Decent storage space in the bathroom although you could always add a couple of shelves perhaps above the commode for additional towel storage. At least there are doors on the linen storage space! Bedroom storage is fantastic even if you do have the optional washer and dryer. The biggest plus is Grand designs reputation for quality builds and service after the sale. Everybody is nice when you're buying but once you sign the paperwork and drive away it's how they treat you afterwards that makes the biggest difference. Thanks for another great review josh!

So thankful you put together these outstanding videos detailing all the benefits of these 5th wheels. I have been narrowing by search for the perfect 5'r for me and it's down to Solitude 310GK and the Montana 3120RL. Knowing how the Montana has the "Legacy Package", is there an upgrade "Package" for the Solitude? I've been digging but can't seem to find one! All the upgrades seem to be al a cart with Solitude, ie: full body paint, disc brakes, 8k axles and the like. Is that just the way it is with Solitude?

This is fantastic, but it is missing a coat closet. Now there's plenty of storage in that front closet for jackets plus plenty of clothing however I find it funny that its smaller sibling, the 2930RL has a coat closet but this doesn't get one.

Hmmm, though everyone is doing the same floor plans, GD is doing some good things and some not-so-good things. A 4 inch fart fan in such a high-end RV seems like a slight. I much prefer a cabinet with a swing-out TV. The televator motor is just another thing to break down or have to worry about.

Televator should be mounted on an adjustable arm that locks for retraction. That way you can have the best of both.

OK Josh, I'm thinking a televator with a swing arm bracket. That way you keep the ability to hide the TV all together,or raise it up and use it how ever you want to. But the controls would have to be tucked away close to the TV, otherwise I could see a broken televator in the future... Other than that, this unit is impressive and they seem to just use space very well, such as the sliding foot locker under the bed. Of course, the flooring that matches in the slide is always a plus!!!

I think that this trailer is amazing! I really wish that they would have not put in the sofa and put in a small dinette. other than that having the bed situated the way that it is is awesome. having a full bath is really nice in a small trailer. not sure why they have started to have more refrigerators that are not dual electric and propane, however overall this thing is awesome.

It sure seems like a lot of space for the dual trash can storage. I would prefer to have kitchen storage instead of a massive trash can storage cabinet. Just being picky.

check the TV it may be attached to the elevator with a swing arm and magnets. our GD does both and its not a high end model.

You are gift to the RV industry. We wished you were closer to SD when we bought our Jayco. I am sorry that you are with Bish RV who has made the RV buying experience a nightmare. Thank goodness for our local dealer. We have a ‘22 28.5RSTS and Jayco must have finished our RV on Friday when they had “B1G1” down at the local pub that night. I will never buy another Jayco or purchase anything from Bish. I now have 2 black stones because nobody told we got a free one, solar doesn’t work, water doesn’t read full, auto level works when it wants, heats-sort of, can only sleep on half the couch, no furion screen for camera system, new batteries were running at 10.8 volts when we picked it up, all plumbing leaks on the floor, bmpro tire doesn’t read, somebody at the factory shoved screws and washers through the flooring under the table but it’s in the middle of where your feet are at and WTH was Jayco thinking by not putting an inverter outlet for coffee in the kitchen. Bish in Kearney, NE - HORRIBLE

I would like to know why the manufacturers put all the fuses and converter on the floor? We older people have a hard time getting down on the floors and then getting back up. Please ask manufacturers to put fuses and converter up high about eye level. I beg them.

I do not like televators because they can’t be angled, and the motor is one more thing that can break. Also, I’ve noticed that hardly anybody ever has the televator in the down position anyway. Finally, they make replacing the TV harder, as you have to make sure it isn’t too big or thick.
