Absolutely. It's also an example of: -Overleveled character could one-shot the skilled player if they weren't fucking around -Skilled player might have had a better chance if they upgraded their weapons instead of just relying on the skillset and didn't get cocky I'm not saying Alastor would get a guaranteed win if he did, but that it's more likely he *could* beat Adam if he had angelic steel with him and decided to quit playing games when he had Adam more flustered. I think a win at that point would *still* require a Nat 20 and all of his additional skill rolls maxed out.

It looks like it broke his radio staff, which is what appears to cause his reversion. Maybe that staff is a significant source of power for him. Clearly not the ONLY source since he could still teleport away, but the moment it broke, he basically lost.

I'm not sure how this stuff works in THIS universe, but in the Bible, Adam and Eve aren't just normal people, they're holy unto themselves, being crafted by God itself and having lived in paradise, they're like... humans plus. Like, according to the Bible Adam lived for hundreds of years and fathered like, 50 children lol.

@joeblazer3429 you are right about that, although people did live for hundreds of years still post flood (still, 400 ish being the oldest post flood biblical figure). I think my idea still holds water though, early humans (ie direct descendants of adam) were closer to divinity than modern humans, thus Adam's soul (in the show) is less mortal more divine.

The guy withstood fighting against Adam for a solid minute before being forced to retreat, and stood alongside the Princess of Hell. Probably all part of the plan. And where were the Vees? I'm pretty sure that mysterious deal restricted him in some way during that fight and it blindsided Alastor and fucked him. He hints towards this in his part of the song afterwards before he teleports back to the group.

(The Respectless song is her baiting Carmella into confirming that she killed the angel, which shows how smart she is). Besides, she may not be as invested in hating Alastor, but she does hate angels and Adam is a massive dick, so she may be upset that Adam won rather than Alastor lost.

I believe the mic is a pretty durable item it’s just that Alastor got cocky thinking he wasn’t able to destroy it since yk it’s Alastor. He was also fighting someone that was completely on a higher league than demons if not the overlords, so he did pick up a pretty good fight.

Considering Alastor's line in the song that comes a little later it seems likely that killing Adam was never actually his intention for this fight regardless of whether or not he is at all capable of the task but to fake his own death and disappear until he can find a way out of his contract.

Alastor is very powerful for a sinner but his most prominent weakness is his own arrogance and pride. I love seeing him take an L from a narrative standpoint. It would be so boring if he was this OP Mary Sue anti-hero. I can’t wait to see how he soothes his bruised ego season 2, especially with this fight coming off the heels of having people like Carmella and Lucifer talk down to him.

I'm honestly surprised people expected Alastor to win this fight. The fact that he took the 1v1 at all was impressive considering he held his own for a bit lol But Adam was a definition of a different league. And Overlords aren't even more powerful than the Sins, including Alastor. Only person that was beating Adam was gonna be Pops

He hit Adam multiple times with the tentacles, if he just had an angelic weapon in each tentacle he would have won, especially with that sneaky shadow uppercut. A dagger going up Adam's throat right there would have killed him. Alastor only lost because he got cocky and assumed he could beat Adam with no weapons.

People think this makes Alastor look weaker, but it actually makes him look way stronger. He actually fought someone leagues above him, yet actually was able to dodge many of his attacks and land an actual hit on him, and Adam was literally the first person who ever existed with lots of experience. Adam is stronger then Alastor, hence why he retreated, but this just makes Alastors power look better.

Although I do wish Alastor had the chance to put up more of a fight, this scene, although short, seems perfect. It show's Alastor's strength and skill he has built ever since he arrived in hell, able to fend off an angelic being who has been around for an extremely long time, only losing so quickly due to dropping his guard. Honestly it's a shame that adam got killed off so quickly, I actually did like his character, and would love a rematch between these two. Considering Sir Pentious got redeemed due to his good actions when he died, it is likely Adam will come back, although this time, in hell.

I've red lots of comments saying Alastor losing to Adam made him weaker or that his power is contained in his staff. Except we have no proof of that. The lore of the series and the authors themselves are very clear, angels are far stronger than sinners on multiple levels and even demons in general. Literally the only reason Alastor got as far as he did is because Adam is an Unskilled but Strong character, someone with considerable power who just throws it around without thinking too much about it. Heck, Adam wasn't even using his full strength, we see him casually vaporizing and blasting stuff with his fingers, something he never does against Alastor. Alastor landed several hits on Adam and it barely did anything, one successful blow from Adam on Alastor was enough to defeat him. As for the whole "if he had angelic weapons he would have won", that's only assuming Adam wouldn't have been a bit more serious. Adam is not the brightest guy but he isn't stupid, to me at least he would have been more serious. Heck, even with angelic weapons, Alastor would have probably still lost, Adam could have just blast him out of existence. I know this is probably going to be a bit controversial and I LOVE Alastor but saying he actually stood a genuine chance is complete wank and people say that only because they like him more and don't want him to lose.

What really shows you that Alistor knew he wasn't going to win is that he starts with a smile to intimidate, he keeps to long range attacks, and uses the creatures he can conjure to fight for him. The SECOND Adam got a direct hit in Alistor was out, and he was ready with an escape plan. He lived because of his cunning and knowing his own weaknesses. He wasnt being arogant when he fought Adam. Honestly I think thats why he was able to wipe out so many other overlords before, he knew what he was up against.
